As soon as Amelia and Landon stepped into the VIP passage, the air was filled with the fragrance of flowers and the surprised chatter from the crowd.

Amelia kept her face tight, still giving Landon the cold shoulder.

Honestly, she was barely keeping it together.

No way she’d cause a scene out here–she’d save it for when they got home and really let him have it.

But as soon as they turned the corner, they were greeted by an enormous bouquet of roses.

It was absolutely enormous.

The arrangement towered over Amelia, sprawled across the floor and taking up several feet of space.

Any woman would have to stop and stare at something this romantic.

Amelia stopped in her tracks.

Just then, a silky drape about two feet wide slowly unfurled from the second floor, right beside the massive bouquet, catching her eye.

On the drape, it read: “I’ll hold your hand, and we’ll grow old together. Landon & Amelia.”

“Is this for real…?” Amelia stood there, totally dazed.

“Honey, we’re gonna be happy forever!” Landon dropped to one knee, pulling out a diamond ring like he was pulling off a magic trick and holding it up high.

The diamond was twice as big as the one Aiden gave Night Owl.

It sparkled like crazy, absolutely flawless.

It suddenly dawned on Amelia–he’d spent the whole flight orchestrating all of this!

His poor staff, though–they had to scramble to pull off this massive surprise in just two hours.

Pulling off something this huge in just two hours? That’s insane.

Just that gigantic bouquet, big enough to need a truck, must’ve needed a whole crew working nonstop.

And that diamond ring–did Norava even have a rock that size just lying around?

“Honey…” Landon gazed at her, his eyes brimming with affection.

Amelia felt her heart flutter, a blush spreading across her checks as she reached out her hand.

Landon took her delicate hand and slipped the diamond ring onto her ring finger.

Then he stood up and wrapped her in a warm embrace.

“Wow, this is so romantic!” someone exclaimed.

“It’s Mr. Kingsley! No wonder he can turn the airport into a scene from a romance movie…” another person said.

“Ugh, goals! It’s like a real–life romance drama!” someone else chimed in.

With all eyes on her, Amelia couldn’t help but feel super shy about this whole scene.

Blushing, she snuggled up to Landon’s chest. “Seriously, what made you think of all this?”

“Making up for what we missed,” Landon murmured softly in her ear, his voice both teasing and tender.

Amelia’s heart fluttered, turning to mush at his words.

“If there’s a next life, let me be the one to find you first. Would you let me?” Landon whispered, his voice low and full of tenderness.

In this life, it all began because she was the one who came to him that night–saving herself, and saving him

too.

But next time, he’d never let her suffer again. He’d find her first, and make sure she was safe and loved from the very start.

“Yes…” Amelia whispered, her eyes fluttering shut as a gentle smile curved her lips.

‘Dummy, there’s no such thing as a next life,’ she thought.

Even if there was, they’d have to drink that soup that wipes your memories clean before being reborn–who would even remember each other then?

‘Landon, you’re being so hopelessly irrational,‘ she thought.

The grand, romantic spectacle was posted online, keeping the internet buzzing for days before things finally quieted down.

Amelia and Landon enjoyed a few sweet, loving days together, basking in their happiness.

But her happiness didn’t last long–soon enough, her mood started acting up again.

She felt irritable, lost her appetite, and kept dropping by Landon’s office just to snap at him over the tiniest things.

wife.

“Mr. Kingsley, there’s a condition called prenatal depression. Maybe you should take Mrs. Kingsley to see a doctor?” Aaron suggested, concern in his voice.

He’d witnessed it himself–Mrs. Kingsley had come to the office more than once, losing her temper at Landon.

She never used to be like this!

“You noticed it too?” Landon sighed.

‘Life’s so chill and things are going great–what’s there for her to be upset about?‘ he thought.

Still, he just had this feeling it was her powers acting up again.

But he couldn’t say that out loud, so he just kept it to himself.

But during their next prenatal checkup, while Amelia was getting her ultrasound, Landon quietly caught the doctor for a quick word.

“My wife’s mood has changed a lot lately. Could it be prenatal depression?” he asked, his voice low and worried.

“Mrs. Kingsley’s pulse does seem a bit agitated. She might be under some hidden psychological stress,” the doctor said, looking Landon straight in the eye.

Landon frowned, confused. “Stress? What could she possibly be stressed about?”

“Well, for example, intimacy gets tricky during pregnancy, and some women worry their husbands might cheat.” the doctor said, totally matter–of–fact.

Landon was shocked.

‘That’s so unfair! How could anyone think that of me?‘ he thought, his heart pounding.

Yeah, maybe he was a bit unsatisfied, but cheating? Not even a thought crossed his mind!

“Especially for stay–at–home moms–to–be, they tend to worry a lot about the future,” the doctor added.

“Money?” Landon echoed, looking genuinely confused.

Landon let out a sigh of relief.

That was no big deal. He’d just make Amelia the biggest shareholder whenever she wanted.
