Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 106

The moment someone stepped out of the manor, they were instantly swarmed by the crowd outside.

Camera flashes burst in rapid succession, reporters jostled for position, and a cacophony of voices filled the air.

"Excuse me, can you tell us what just happened inside?"

"We heard cheers coming all the way from the main hall—what exactly was going on? And what about those drones and lanterns above the house? Can you explain what that was about?"

"Can you—"

A barrage of questions came from every direction. Dozens of journalists blocked the exit, desperate for the latest scoop.

Most of the guests who emerged looked utterly bewildered. They'd expected some attention—after all, that was par for the course at events like this—but nothing close to this chaos.

The entire front lawn was packed with people in all manner of dress. There were even dogs in the crowd.

"Woof! Woof!"

One dog, noticing all the attention, began barking wildly.

"Click-click!"

Cameras flashed so incessantly that it felt more like midday than midnight.

This was the scene that greeted Emilia and Christian as they stepped outside.

Emilia's eyes went wide behind her mask, stunned.

Before she could gather her thoughts, a swarm of reporters closed in around them—some still holding onto their dogs' leashes.

"Woof! Woof!" The dog barked again, catching Emilia's gaze.

"There's Serena!"

"Serena, what happened in there?"

"Mr. Donovan, what exactly went down at your company's charity auction tonight? The commotion was unbelievable!"

Questions flew at them from every side. Christian's brow tightened as he pushed the crowd back, shielding Emilia from the crush.

He swiftly pulled out his phone and called for security.

Security had already been ramped up once things got rowdy inside. Reinforcements had even been brought in from nearby neighborhoods, but the crowds had blocked the roads—the whole Hillside Manor was surrounded.

"This way! Get in position!"

"Block the entrance—don't let them back inside!"

In a split second, the mob shifted, stampeding towards Tyler and Vivienne.

One frustrated journalist, stuck in front of Emilia, gritted his teeth. "Damn it, I got Serena, not Tyler!"

Christian couldn't help laughing, incredulous. "If you want Tyler, go over there! Don't just stand here complaining!"

The scene descended into utter chaos.

A blaring siren sounded from the manor, an attempt to restore order.

But it was no use.

After all, Tyler had lit a lantern for Vivienne! And Serena—from Voice of the Divine—had bid against him!

Was there some huge scandal brewing?

But wait—wasn't Serena supposed to be with Christian?
