Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 108

Chaos had erupted on Vivienne and Tyler's side of the estate.

In the end, all Emilia saw was Tyler scooping Vivienne into his arms and hurrying her back toward the villa.

It wasn't just Emilia who noticed—every single person present witnessed the scene.

Christian's gaze flickered with worry as he looked at Emilia. He wanted to say something, but with reporters everywhere, he bit back his words. Instead, he simply raised his phone and tried to signal to the people across the lawn.

The Glenn family trio caught the spectacle, too. George let out a dismissive huff, while the glamorous woman beside him rolled her eyes in open disdain.

Everyone reacted differently, each response colored by their own perspective.

As for Emilia—she simply withdrew her gaze, her expression cool and detached. It was as if the man carrying Vivienne away wasn't her husband of so many years; none of it seemed to have anything to do with her.

Suddenly, the sharp blare of sirens echoed from the villa once more.

A moment later, the unmistakable thrum of helicopter blades filled the night.

Emilia glanced up and spotted the helicopter hovering above, its searchlights slicing through the darkness.

Christian shielded her from the jostling crowd and guided her toward the landing pad.

Emilia nodded silently, following him and the security team as they finally broke free from the throng.

The Donovan Group's staff, previously trapped by the chaos, had now arrived and carved out a secure path, allowing the evening's guests to begin departing in an orderly fashion. Under the vigilant eyes of the security detail, the crowd thinned out, and things gradually settled.

Pausing at the stairwell to the rooftop, Emilia glanced back one last time.

Downstairs, the crowd had parted instinctively, leaving a clear view of Vivienne—who had just regained consciousness. Tyler sat at her side, leaning in close, murmuring something only for her to hear.

His brow was deeply furrowed, his lips pressed tight—a portrait of concern and care.

"Let's go," Christian said quietly, following Emilia's gaze for a moment before urging her on.

Below, traffic was still crawling along, though a single lane had been cleared for cars to pass through.

The downdraft from the rotors whipped Emilia's long hair around her face. She watched the streams of headlights and taillights, her mind a blur, weighed down by exhaustion she couldn't quite name.

Suddenly, a suit jacket was draped over her shoulders.

It was still warm from its owner, carrying a faint scent of pine.

Emilia turned to find Christian beside her, his hair tousled by the wind, worry etched in his features.

He said something, lips moving in the rush of air, but the roar of the rotors drowned out his words. She couldn't hear him.

Down in the parking lot of Hillside Manor, Tyler and Vivienne had made it back to their car.

After helping Vivienne into the passenger seat, Tyler took a briefcase from a Donovan Group staff member. He opened it to check—the tanzanite and pigeon-blood ruby lay quietly within, undisturbed and gleaming in the dim light.
