Emilia and Christian made their way backstage together.
As they passed through the staff corridor, they spotted Vivienne standing off to the side.
Vivienne's whole demeanor was downright chilling. The usual mask of composure she wore had completely slipped.
"No wonder you never showed any interest in my invitation," Vivienne said, her gaze fixed on the Masked Woman. "You had your own plans all along."
Emilia smiled softly. "Even if I hadn't, I still wouldn't be interested."
Christian shot Vivienne a look, finding the whole situation almost hilarious.
He could barely keep a straight face.
Suddenly, he felt that having Emilia perform in a mask was a stroke of genius.
Vivienne had tried to pit Emilia against herself—how ironic was that?
But he couldn't let himself laugh; right now, he still had to play the part of Serena's patron. He forced himself to keep it together.
Still, acting composed wasn't exactly his strong suit.
He cleared his throat, feigning ignorance, then frowned and said, "What are you two talking about? Let's go."
Emilia glanced at him, nodded, and followed Christian out of the corridor.
They hurried away, while Vivienne was left fuming, stomping her foot in frustration.
But she didn't have time to chase after them. Her phone buzzed with a new message from Jack.
Donovan Entertainment Official had just posted an update.
That's right—now the real battle was about to begin.
The stage performance was only the beginning; the real fight would be the media war that followed.
