Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 168

Vivienne had expected Jensen to agree right away, but to her surprise, he hesitated.

"I'm sorry, Miss Vivienne, but I can't just promise you that. You might want to check with Mr. Erickson first. Without his instructions, I can't act on my own," Jensen replied, his tone cautious.

Jensen hadn't gotten to this position by being careless.

"I see. Well, sorry to trouble you," Vivienne said politely, though irritation simmered beneath her calm exterior.

Once she became Mrs. Erickson, she'd make sure Jensen was the first to go.

It was the first time in ages that Vivienne had felt doors closing in her face at every turn.

With no other options, she made her way over to Tyler's table.

"Tyler." Vivienne hesitated, her eyes conflicted as if she wanted to speak but held back.

Tyler glanced up, giving her a look that said, *Just spit it out*.

Vivienne leaned in, whispering her request into Tyler's ear.

"Please, Tyler," she pleaded, her eyes wide and hopeful. "Honestly, this is all because of the Donovan family's infighting. Wyatt and Mr. Christian are at each other's throats. I even saw Mr. Wyatt backstage just now—looked like the brothers almost came to blows."

"But the audience has no idea about any of this, so all the suspicion falls on me."

Vivienne's eyes glistened. "I'm not afraid of rumors, really. I don't have much time left anyway. But I just want to leave a little goodness behind. If all the blame lands on me, then everything I've done these past few days will be tainted."

"Tyler, I don't want that. You know that's not what I set out for."

And just like that, she shifted the blame squarely onto Wyatt.

Tyler studied her in silence, his emotions tangled.

He knew the Donovan family's dirty laundry well enough. Vivienne had confided in him about how she felt going into this show.

But…

A flash of Emilia's face crossed his mind.
