Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 170

At the end of the night, Vivienne cornered Emilia once again.

"Back me up—help me clear my name." Vivienne demanded, catching Emilia in the staff corridor.

Emilia almost laughed out loud.

How could Vivienne still act so entitled, even after everything that had happened?

And there was no way Emilia was going to stoop so low as to help Vivienne out of this mess.

Without even acknowledging her, Emilia turned and walked away.

Vivienne called after her, "Think it through. Sure, I'm at a disadvantage now, but I can still turn this around!"

Her voice echoed down the hall. "Serena, once it gets out that you lost Christian's baby, do you really think you'll keep strutting around like this?"

"The only reason you're doing fine right now is because I've been merciful!"

Emilia couldn't help but laugh. Mercy? Where did Vivienne get this boundless confidence?

She didn't bother responding.

"Serena!" Vivienne shouted after her.

Emilia kept walking.

"Don't think you've got this show in the bag! I'll be waiting for you to come begging!"

After that, Emilia gathered her things, ready to head out. Christian was throwing a celebratory dinner, and she was supposed to pick up Bella for dinner together.

That's when Vivienne decided to pull a stunt.

Just as the audience was preparing to leave in an orderly fashion, a man suddenly burst into the studio.

Anyone who'd been sneaking around backstage earlier, planting equipment, would have recognized him: this was the same guy who'd tried to ask Vivienne about the demo issue before being escorted out.

Vivienne had let him in—Cindy, Emilia's assistant, filled her in on the details.

"He's been stopped outside more than once," Cindy whispered in Emilia's ear. "Mr. Donovan saw him too, but later we heard he was just trying to ask Vivienne something. Vivienne had security keep him out. Supposedly, he's one of her die-hard fans."
