Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 191

"Keep searching. Double the team if you have to. We need to find Eugene—no excuses," Tyler's voice was icy. "Monitor the police. I want to know exactly what's going on over there."

He knew full well that the police were keeping things under wraps from the start. Pressing them for answers would get him nowhere. All he could do was wait.

"Yes, sir!" Jensen hurried off to carry out his orders.

As he ended the call, Tyler glanced at Emilia, sitting quietly at her table.

Should he tell her what was going on?

He wasn't sure.

Lost in thought, he thumbed through his phone and saw a message from Vivienne, sent right after he'd missed her call.

[Tyler, the police came to see me. They asked about Eugene. What should I do?]

A moment later, another message popped up.

[I made some excuses—told them I wasn't feeling well, so I couldn't talk. But I'm sure they'll be back. I'm coming to find you now. Let's figure out what to say. It'll just take a few minutes, I won't keep you and her from the wine tasting.]

He had barely finished reading when his phone buzzed again—Vivienne, calling.

Across the room, Emilia must have sensed something. She lifted her head, watching Tyler standing by the aisle, frowning as he stared at his phone, then striding out without a word.

What just happened?

Emilia didn't know, and honestly, she didn't care enough to dig deeper.

She'd come here tonight with two goals.

The first was to settle things with Tyler, to keep him from harassing Bella any further. She'd already given him enough time to talk; that matter was closed.

The second was Chloe.

What was Chloe up to, and why?

Emilia's eyes drifted across the room to where Chloe was finishing her speech.
