And just like that, Emilia exited the stage.
Before leaving, though, she glanced back at Vivienne.
Vivienne was glaring at her, face contorted with barely contained fury.
Emilia just smiled.
She turned and walked off.
The host quickly picked up where she left off, filling the silence.
Backstage, in the staff corridor, Cindy and Christian hurried over to greet Emilia.
“You alright?” Christian asked.
Emilia nodded, smiling as she replied, “Do I look that fragile to you?”
Christian wasn’t so sure. They all knew just how tough this round had been.
Cindy quickly pulled out some tissues to dab the sweat from Emilia’s forehead.
“I’ve got it,” Emilia said, taking the tissues herself, still smiling.
Together, they started down the hallway.
Behind them, the audience roared with applause and cheers—a wave of excitement and energy.
Emilia looked down at the tissue in her hand, streaked with sweat and smudged makeup.
She loved this feeling.
Soon, they reached Serena’s private dressing room.
Emilia sank into the couch at last, letting herself finally relax.
Christian handed her a tablet.
“Cindy told me what you said. Here’s the outcome of their little operation,” Christian said, angling the screen so only Emilia could see.
Just hours ago, rumors of collusion between Serena and Christian had been swirling online, casting doubt on Serena’s real abilities. But now, those voices were quickly vanishing.
