She was cornered.
Vivienne hadn’t even made it out of the staff hallway when someone blocked her path, grinning from ear to ear.
“Miss Vivienne,” the man said smoothly, “we have something we think you’ll find very interesting.”
Vivienne tried to brush past him, but before she could, he pressed play on a recording.
It was her own voice—caught just minutes ago in this very hallway. The color drained from Vivienne’s face.
“Miss Vivienne, think about it,” the man went on. “We’ve had equipment set up here since the very first night of ‘Voice of the Divine.’ You should consider all the things you’ve said.”
“You actually bugged the place?” Vivienne spat, her voice shaking with fury. “Aren’t you afraid I’ll press charges?”
He just smirked, unfazed. “Do you really think people in my line of work don’t have backup plans?”
“And let’s be honest—what’s worse? Us getting sued, or your little secrets getting out?”
He leaned in, his tone turning almost casual. “I’ll give you three seconds to decide, Miss Vivienne. If you say no, my partner will take this little gem straight to Serena. I’m sure she’d be very interested.”
“And personally, I think Emilia would love to hear it, too. Just slip us a bit of cash, and you’ll keep a tight grip on Mr. Erickson. Otherwise, if he finds out what you’re really like… Well, that wouldn’t end well for you, would it?”
He started counting.
“One.”
“Two.”
“S—”
He didn’t even make it to three before Vivienne agreed to go with him.
Meanwhile, in Serena’s dressing room—
Emilia frowned, puzzled that Vivienne hadn’t released the next wave of drama as expected.
