Emilia was having the time of her life.
Most days, she barely had a moment to herself.
For the past seven years, her world had revolved around Tyler. If she wasn’t handling matters for The Erickson Group or the Dennis family, she was jetting off on business trips or visiting Lunar Manor to check in on her elderly relatives. Any rare free time she managed to carve out was spent making their house feel more like a home or picking up new skills.
Gone were the days when she and Joyce would simply wander off together, exploring the city without a care. She hardly ever visited Prism Ivy House anymore—tonight was a rare exception.
It felt alright to be back, she supposed. But the noisy, crowded atmosphere wasn’t really her thing. Once in a while was fine, but she had no intention of making it a habit.
Lost in thought, she suddenly felt someone grab her arm.
Emilia frowned and spun around.
Tyler?
His lips were pressed into a thin, furious line, barely-contained anger radiating from him.
Emilia immediately tried to pull away, but Tyler’s grip tightened as he dragged her off the dance floor.
Christian had gone to grab some drinks and wasn’t nearby.
Tyler yanked Emilia into a dimly lit hallway off to the side.
“What are you doing? Tyler, let go of me!” Emilia struggled, finally wrenching her arm free.
The low lights in Prism Ivy House made Tyler’s expression even darker.
“What are you doing here?” His voice was tight with suppressed rage.
Emilia rolled her eyes and turned to leave without answering.
But before she could take a step, Tyler caught her wrist again. She twisted it free, glaring at him.
“What I do here is none of your business,” she snapped, putting distance between them. “And don’t you dare put your hands on me.”
