Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 293

She hinted, “Didn’t they say during the first livestream that she’d been injured ten days ago and couldn’t make the rehearsal?”

Tyler still didn’t look at her.

Across the room, George, who hadn’t left yet, suddenly turned around and spoke in a deliberately innocent tone, “I heard she really was hurt.”

He added, with a gossipy air, “Apparently she fell down the stairs. Pretty badly, too—they say she couldn’t even get out of bed.”

George’s words dripped with sarcasm. “But who knows who did it?”

Tyler’s gaze dropped to the scuffed marks on the floor, his fingertips trembling slightly.

“Ella, put yourself in her shoes,” George continued, still mocking. “If this happened to you, what would you do?”

Ella played along, exchanging a look with George. “What can you do? If your heart’s broken, you have to move on and live your life.”

George nodded solemnly in agreement.

Vivienne was practically fuming, but she kept her composure for the sake of appearances.

She tried to protest her innocence, but George cut her off before she could get a word out.

“That medical report Christian brought in was obviously fake. You all knew what Emilia was like ten days ago, but her injuries were very real.”

“As for Serena’s condition in the earlier episodes—even a blind person could see she wasn’t well.”

Vivienne finally lost her patience. “Mr. Wyatt, why are you so eager to defend her? Do you have feelings for her?”

George reacted as if she’d just told the best joke.

“Of course I like her! Is that a problem?” he replied, as if it was the most natural thing in the world. “Everyone knows I’m her biggest fan.”

He put on an exaggerated look of surprise. “Was I not obvious enough about it?”

With that, he rolled his eyes and sauntered off to join his siblings for some food.

Now only Tyler and Vivienne were left in the room.

A thick silence settled between them, neither speaking for a long time.
