“Yes, Dr. Raine, I do feel much more stable lately,” Emilia said softly, her mind drifting to the memory of Bella and Theodore painting together last night.

“Maybe it’s time for me to open my heart again and start something new,” she added, her voice tentative.

But there was only silence from Sophia’s end of the line, which struck Emilia as odd.

Meanwhile, at the wellness center, Tyler gave a gentle knock on the office door, standing beside Vivienne in the hallway.

Sophia was Emilia’s therapist, so she knew a fair bit about Emilia and Tyler’s situation. And as for Tyler—Emilia’s husband and one of the most well-known figures in Alden City—Sophia was more than familiar.

Tyler frowned slightly. Hadn’t they scheduled this appointment?

Vivienne was just about to speak when hurried footsteps approached.

“Sorry about this,” another staff member called out as they walked over. “I accidentally gave you someone else’s number. Here’s the correct one.”

They swapped out the appointment card, and realization flickered across Tyler’s face.

“My apologies,” the staff member said to both Tyler and Vivienne, then gave Sophia a polite nod before hurrying away.

Tyler led Vivienne to the neighboring office for their session.

Sophia stepped out into the hall, exchanging a glance with the staff member.

“The new guy messed up again,” her colleague complained, exasperated. “He can’t even hand out the right appointment number. I’m always cleaning up after him.”

Sophia managed a small smile, trying to reassure her. “He’s here to learn. Give him a little patience.”
