Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 33

Who gave Vivienne the right to slander Emilia in here?

Joyce snapped, "Vivienne, why are you so desperate to deflect blame? Is it because you're the one who hit her? You're anxious to point the finger elsewhere!"

"You—!"

A flicker of panic flashed in Vivienne's eyes, but she quickly masked it with a look of wounded innocence.

Tyler stepped in front of Vivienne, his voice cold. "Vivienne's been under the paparazzi's watch since she left the Vivian Floral Atelier at 8:45 p.m. Her every move was posted online, and she's been with me ever since."

Joyce clenched her teeth. "She could've gotten someone else to do it."

Tyler's brows knit, his gaze sharp with anger. "Joyce, don't cross the line."

In the hospital room.

Emilia struggled in endless darkness.

It felt like thick, sucking mud was dragging her deeper and deeper, swallowing her whole.

She couldn't shake the feeling that she'd forgotten something important.

There was something she wanted—no, needed—to fight for.

Fear and dread tightened around her.

She tried to force herself up, but her limbs wouldn't move.

Time lost all meaning. At last, a pinprick of light appeared in the void.

With every ounce of strength, Emilia crawled toward it.

Just as she touched the light, a memory burst open: a sunny, cozy house, with a family of three wrapped in happiness.

A creamy wool carpet. A glossy black grand piano.

A little girl perched on the piano bench, her fingers stumbling over the keys, stringing together tentative, uneven notes.

Für Elise.

"I just learned it recently," he said, encouraging her. "Since you've been learning piano, Daddy decided to learn along with you."

The girl played with newfound focus and beamed up at her father. "You're amazing, Daddy!"

He smiled and slowly let go, watching as she played on her own, not even realizing she was doing it.

"You're the amazing one, Emily," he said softly. "All you need to do is believe in yourself."

At last, he released her hand completely.

"You're my only daughter. Everything I have belongs to you. From the moment you were born, it was decided—the future of the Dennis family is in your hands."

"Daddy, do you really think I can do it?" she asked, uncertainty clouding her face.

"You can," he answered, his voice gentle and sure.

The flowing melody filled the room, warm as a spring breeze. And in her father's eyes, there was nothing but pride and boundless love.

He smiled and said, "See? You're already doing it."
