Time slipped by in a blur.
Before she knew it, it was time for Emilia and Theodore’s third date.
This time, the rendezvous was set on a little island just fifteen minutes from Alden City—a place known for its lively events and exotic charm. Lately, the island had been a hive of activity, stirring curiosity among the locals. Even Emilia had heard whispers about the mysterious commotion.
But as Theodore arrived to pick her up that evening, everything suddenly made sense. The buzz on the island was for her.
They boarded a small ferry at sunset, the sky ablaze with shades of crimson and gold. As the boat cut across the water, Emilia glanced at Theodore, teasing, “Going all out, aren’t we?”
He only smiled, a glint of mischief in his eyes. “It’s not just the two of us tonight.”
That only piqued her curiosity further.
Fifteen minutes later, they set foot on the island. The air was tinged with the warmth of dusk. They walked for a while, turned a corner, and Emilia stopped short, utterly entranced by the sight before her.
The entire street ahead looked like something out of a dream—alive with vibrant colors and a dizzying blend of foreign delights. Stalls overflowed with glittering jewels, fragrant spices burned in braziers, and everywhere she looked, street performers conjured up the impossible.
They had barely passed through the entryway when Emilia was drawn to a man in a magician’s robe. With a flick of his wrist, he plucked a ring from thin air, spun it, and in an instant, it transformed into a string of balloons.
