Behind Theodore, a river shimmered gold beneath the afternoon sun, stretching toward endless fields of sunflowers.
He stood there, smiling, waiting for her.
At last, Emilia made her way to the platform.
The third "venue," as it turned out, was just a cleverly disguised counter—transformed so completely that you’d never guess its true purpose.
The very spot where Theodore now waited was where the instant camera had been set up.
They were outdoors, with a crowd gathered not far away to watch.
“You’re here,” Theodore said, extending his broad hand.
Emilia placed hers in his palm.
“Yes, I’m here.” As she answered, his steady grip helped her up onto the platform.
Off to the side, the instant camera was already primed. From the direction of Hillside Manor, a loud bang echoed—the sound of a door slamming into a wall.
In the next moment, under the gaze of everyone present and all those watching online, Theodore kissed Emilia.
Click.
The camera captured the scene.
At the same time, in a different livestream, Vivienne’s screen froze on a single sheet of paper lying on the table:
**The ring is yours. I’m leaving.**
The two images—Theodore and Emilia’s kiss, and Vivienne’s note—appeared side by side, the contrast striking.
Some in the crowd were watching both streams at once, and the clash of emotions sparked a chorus of screams.
But the shrieks hadn’t even faded when another sound thundered overhead.
The deep, rattling whir of a helicopter’s blades drowned out everything else.
Wind whipped through the sunflower field, setting a golden sea of blooms swaying wildly. At the heart of it all, a massive bridal photo frame caught the sunlight and blazed with gold.
Everyone looked up.
Across the field, on the helipad atop a nearby building, a helicopter was touching down.
And then—
“Oh my God, it’s Tyler!”
“Tyler’s coming in by helicopter!”
