Christian rubbed his hands together, unable to hide his anticipation.
He’d been waiting for this moment for ages—finally, he could take Vivienne down a notch.
The past few weeks, she’d driven him up the wall with her arrogance. And as for Wyatt, all he needed was one last piece of evidence. Then, everything would fall perfectly into place, every detail tying up the loose ends.
He and his partner went over their plan again and again, hashing out every minor point as the hours slipped by.
That afternoon, Vivienne launched the next phase of her publicity blitz.
Across the city, every prominent billboard lit up with the newest trailer for “Vivi’s Whispers,” a bold caption announcing its release one week from now.
Usually, movie slots had to be negotiated well in advance, but Vivienne had simply leveraged Tyler’s connections—no questions asked. Prime advertising spots, which most would have had to reserve months ahead, were mysteriously cleared for her. Now, wherever you looked, “Vivi’s Whispers” was impossible to ignore.
Online, the reaction was immediate and explosive.

At the top floor of the Erickson Building, in the CEO’s office, Tyler stood by the massive window, gazing down at the endless stream of traffic below.
He heard the sharp click of heels behind him—Vivienne joined him at the window.
“Thank you, Tyler,” she said with a smile.
Though the Erickson Group had officially distanced itself from “Vivi’s Whispers,” she was still making full use of Tyler’s personal resources—and they were working wonders.
In fact, she was already planning for the film’s premiere: every employee in the Erickson Group would be “invited”—or rather, required—to buy a ticket, all under the guise of a staff benefit.
Tyler didn’t respond. Lately, he’d been like this—distant, silent. The old Tyler, volatile and quick-tempered, seemed to have vanished, replaced by a stoic, unreadable man.
He just stared out at the sky, clouds drifting by in the fading light. No one could guess what he was thinking.
