Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 59

"So you do remember I'm your grandfather, huh?" The old man's chest heaved as he jabbed a trembling finger at Tyler. "You're no grandson of mine—not anymore!"

"You went to watch that Vivienne woman's show, didn't you? Why'd you even bother coming back?"

He gestured angrily at the TV.

Tyler glanced over. On the screen, a live broadcast of *Voice of the Divine* was playing—the judges were picking their teams. Vivienne was inviting contestants to join hers.

"And you're still watching!" his grandfather barked again.

Tyler tore his gaze away, exasperated. "Grandpa…"

Getting no response, he turned to his grandmother for help. "Grandma…"

"Don't call me that. I'm angry with you too." She was gently trying to calm her husband as she spoke. "All these years, your grandfather has never once humiliated me over another woman. I thought, since we raised you ourselves after your parents left, you would treat Emily with the same respect. Clearly, I was wrong."

"Grandma—"

"Don't call me! Go find Emilia right now." His grandfather's temper flared. "You have a wife at home, but you're out at some woman's show, and it's all over the internet! People are saying terrible things. If Emily sees it—who knows how hurt she'll be."

He pointed his cane at Tyler, voice shaking with command. "I don't care what you have to do—swear an oath, get down on your knees, whatever it takes! Bring her back to us!"

Everything happened so fast, the office door was still wide open. Jensen hadn't even had time to close it, so Parker's furious shouting echoed across the entire floor.

Tyler pressed a hand to his stinging arm, where his grandfather had struck him, lips pressed tight.

He asked quietly, "Did Emilia complain to you?"

Parker grew even angrier, swinging his cane at Tyler again.

"And don't bother coming home until you've brought Emily back," she said, stepping into the elevator.

Tyler stood frozen in place.

Across the entire floor, no one dared to say a word. The staff all seemed to have turned to stone—deaf, mute, invisible.

The only sound in the quiet was the TV broadcast.

On screen, Vivienne stood confidently with a microphone. "Serena, you're incredibly talented and I truly admire you. If we can form a team, I promise to give you the best stage possible, and I'll do everything I can to help you shine. So—will you join my team?"

The host chimed in, amping up the excitement. "Ladies and gentlemen, Vivienne has officially invited Serena to join her team. Now, let's see what Serena decides!"

The camera panned to a woman in a dazzling flame-rose dress. She stepped forward and took the microphone from the host.
