Orion smiled faintly at her words, a spark of pride and excitement igniting within him.
His club’s growth had truly exceeded expectations; in just their first year, they were already approaching the peak of Thunderpeak Royal Academy.
’Let’s see how things go in the second test. There’s still more than a month left, plenty of time for at least one more exploration after we finish here,’ Orion thought to himself.
Even as he silently conversed with Lumi, Orion casually waved his hand, swiftly dispatching a Tier 8 beast that had ambushed them.
Thunder and fire erupted one after another, incinerating and scattering its remains instantly.
Nyss, observing from his side, shook her head slightly, her eyes sparkling with hidden admiration. "Your Thunder Element truly is frightening, Orion."
The group’s chemistry and harmony had noticeably strengthened, allowing them to easily carve through the dangers of the labyrinth.
Orion’s gaze however turned serious, he could feel that the subtle pressure was growing stronger as he neared the hidden room.
Finally, after a few hours of swift traveling and battles, they reached the hidden chamber Elias had mentioned earlier.
As Orion’s group stepped into the vast chamber leading to the hidden room, the deafening sounds of violent combat and explosive clashes echoed throughout the area.
Dozens of cultivators, both Beastkin and human nobles, battled fiercely against one another, their mana erupting chaotically, painting the cavern with colorful yet deadly displays of energy.
The air was thick with hostility and a tense aura of aggression. Most of the human cultivators present were peak Tier 8 Awakeners, carefully selected and dispatched by their respective noble houses.
Orion knew very well that weaker disciples had been held back intentionally, fearing unnecessary deaths that might weaken their Houses’ standing. If Tier 9 experts were allowed then no one below the Tier 9 would have been sent here.
As soon as Orion and his group emerged from the passageway, the chaotic fighting immediately paused, as though frozen in time.
All gazes quickly shifted toward them, each person assessing the newly arrived team with cautiousness.
Realizing it was the Thunder Reaper Duo with a large group, many of the Thunderpeak Kingdom nobles visibly relaxed, their fierce expressions easing into relief.
After all, despite previous rivalries, facing foreign threats together was far preferable to internal strife.
One nobleman, an imposing Tier 8 expert bearing the crest of House Ironclad, quickly stepped forward, his gaze intense yet respectful. "Orion," he said in a deep voice, gesturing urgently toward the deeper part of the hidden chamber, "the top geniuses among these Beastkin mutts have already entered the innermost area. If you delay, there might be nothing left inside for us to claim."
Orion’s eyes flashed with understanding, nodding once in acknowledgment. "Thanks for the heads-up," he replied calmly.
Without another word, he strode forward, leading his group directly past the wary gazes of the Beastkin warriors.
The Beastkin, recognizing Orion, Nyss, Sylvia and the others, stepped aside carefully, unwilling to provoke a disaster.
Their eyes, however, carried deep hostility and apprehension, clearly wary of Orion’s lethal reputation, especially after his repeated battles against their tribe geniuses.
As Orion’s group finally entered the hidden room itself, the environment immediately changed.
Magi on the other hand stood behind the group as most of his treasures had been spent during this exploration. He looked at Orion and the rest of the group with a serious gaze while clenching his fist; his expression remained unwilling seeing the group valiantly fighting.
Rina and Fiora, who had already reached Tier 8, had been launching lethal attacks from the side, their teamwork was much better than the rest of the group.
Slowly yet steadily, the seemingly invincible Tier 9 beast began to falter under the relentless combined assault of Orion’s entire group.
Its powerful vitality gradually drained away, and finally, it collapsed heavily onto the cold stone floor, lifeless and defeated.
As the dust settled, Orion reverted to his human form, breathing heavily but visibly satisfied. He surveyed the battlefield appreciatively, proud of his companions’ incredible strength.
"You’ve all really gotten powerful during this time," Orion praised without holding back. "It seems your time separated from me wasn’t wasted."
Elias wiped sweat from his brow, laughing heartily, "Well, we still can’t compare with you. If any of us fought the beast one on one then we would have died 10 times by now."
He turned his head and looked at the surroundings while saying with a hint of annoyance in his voice, "But these damn spatial distortions are annoying, in all the intense battles, we need to make sure we don’t get swept in them."
Orion shook his head with a smile as he also saw the state the entire corridor was in after the battle. Spatial distortions riddled the place but they were getting healed at a rate visible to the naked eye, "This is good training as well. This will raise your spatial awareness and will help you later. Anyways, we should hurry up our pace, those guys already had an advantage, we shouldn’t fall far behind."
He also had a faint sense of premonition that he would find something truly unexpected in the depths of the ruin. And the faint pressure was also slowly getting stronger and stronger in the surrounding.
[Master, you should be careful. We are getting closer and closer to the center of the ruin. We don’t know what we will find.]
