Forgetting You Was the Best Ending novel Chapter 24

Chapter 24

Victor stepped forward, visibly agitated at Lily’s mention of seven years.

“Lily, have you gotten your memories back?”

Hearing this, Benjamin shot a worried glance at Lily. He wasn’t sure if his few months with her could measure up to her seven years with Victor.

Lily noticed Benjamin’s concern. She squeezed his hand and turned to Victor.

“I remember now. But Victor, what makes you think I’d come back?”

“Did you ever show me an ounce of kindness in those seven years?”

“Even the thing you used to jog my memory was something I shamelessly gave you. Do you own a single item holding our shared memories?”

Victor stood speechless under her barrage of questions.

Lily continued, “Seven years is enough. You’re tired of it, and so am I.”

“I’ve found someone to spend my life with. Please let me go.”

Her words were both rejection and plea.

“Sorry.”

Victor uttered this before fleeing the ward in near panic.

“Lily… am I the one you want to spend your life with?”

Benjamin’s voice trembled with hope and nervousness.

Lily tightened her grip on his hand, meeting his gaze steadily.

“Yes, Benjamin. I, Lily, want to share my life with you.”

Meanwhile, Victor had barely exited when Sophie grabbed him.

Disheveled and pale, she bore no resemblance to her former self.

Clutching his sleeve like a lifeline, she pleaded:

“Victor, I can’t go to prison. I can’t!”

Victor had released evidence of Sophie’s plagiarism and past misdeeds.

The damage she’d once inflicted on Benjamin’s company by framing Lily now backfired onto Sophie and the Scotts.

Fired from the Scott Group and vilified online, Sophie faced criminal charges for hitting Lily with her car likely meaning years behind bars.
