“Josie, this is Jaden. Can you do me a favor?” Jaden’s tone was unusually humble.

If she had known it was Jaden, Josie wouldn’t have answered the phone at all. “No!”

She refused flatly and was about to hang up immediately.

Jaden panicked.

He said, “No, don’t be so quick to refuse me. I know I wronged you before and was too full of myself.

“I brought this upon myself, and I was a poor judge of character.

“I’m begging you, help me. Besides you, I don’t know who else to ask.

“Josie, it’s very simple. You just need to come to the police station and sign a paper to bail me out. It’s really that simple!”

It wasn’t that Jaden didn’t know who else to ask. he just didn’t want to lose face in front of others.

But in front of her, it didn’t matter, because he always felt she was inferior to him.

Even at his most pathetic, he could still act superior in front of Josie.

It was because he believed that she was just a foolish country girl with no powerful background, not even a family to protect her.

Even now, he still believed that if he played weak and pitiful, Josie would surely soften and eagerly run to bail him out.

But he didn’t seem to understand the situation.

Josie originally wanted to hang up the phone directly, but decided to be a good person, so she kindly reminded him.

She said, “Don’t you have any basic legal knowledge? For an act of public assault like yours, if the other party doesn’t agree to mediation, you will definitely be detained, and bail is not allowed during detention!”

She thought, ‘Eden wasn’t seriously injured and it’s not a criminal case, so there is no way for Jaden to be bailed.

‘As long as Eden refuses to settle, Jaden is bound to be detained.

‘It’s likely Eden won’t settle.‘

After Josie finished speaking, she hung up the phone with a click.

The other three stared at her, speechless.

Zoey said, “It couldn’t be Jaden, asking you to go to the police station to bail him out, could it?”

Adeline said, “He’s got some nerve! You two have been estranged for so long, and he never came to apologize to you. Now that he is in trouble, he comes to you for help?”

Allison said, “Exactly, Josie, ignore him. Let’s go shopping!”

The three of them quickly changed the subject.

Josie was still a bit frustrated, but now she felt completely at ease.

They entered a fashion store.

The mall, owned by the Clem family, was a mid–to–high–end shopping area.

After browsing, Josie found a dress she liked.

She rarely wore dresses, but since she was in a relationship now, she wanted to dress up.

She still remembered Sean’s expression when she put on the dress at the party that day.

For some reason, she really liked it.

Josie was taking the clothes she had tried on to the cash register when someone stopped her.

“Josie, this place doesn’t seem like it’s for someone of your standing!” Natalie snatched her dress.

Josie thought, ‘Why did I run into Natalie here?

‘Is she always lurking around me?‘

Josie looked annoyed. “Does a mall check customer status? Who made that rule? You did? Does the mall acknowledge it?”

“If you don’t believe my words, you have to believe Miss Green.” Natalie held the dress up to the girl behind her.

Then, she said, “Patricia, this dress suits you perfectly! I heard it’s the new autumn collection from DI Group, and there’s only one piece per size.

“This size is just right for you. Will you try it on?”

Patricia Green frowned slightly. “You’re holding something she tried on up to me. I find it quite dirty. Get it away from me!”

“You’re right, it’s too dirty!” Natalie threw the clothes onto Josie. “It’s all yours. Go pay and leave.”
