Chapter 51

Zander was losing his cool because he’d been there to witness how everything had panned out. Blair had been the former Head of Procurement, but he met his downfall after what happened.
Heading the procurement department had been lucrative work.
Zander asked, “Mr. Larson, should we hire a few more bodyguards? And should we also inform Alyssa about this?”
Howard massaged his temples before nodding and sending Zander off to deal with it.
Blair Lowell.
A murderous glare flashed across his eyes. Howard wouldn’t let Blair off the hook!
Back in the hospital, Megan removed her makeup and got into bed.
Selena took some time off to see her.
“Meg, you were amazing!”
She held on to Megan’s arm while praising, “Your performance was explosively good!”
“Was it that good?” Megan found Selena’s exaggerated facial expression hilarious. “I think you’ve just got some rose–colored glasses on when it comes to me.”
“No way!” Selena didn’t agree at all. She nuzzled into Megan.
“We grew up together. Did you think I would be unfamiliar with how capable you are? I didn’t watch the edited, recorded version. I had a friend working in the production team, Helen Brown, and I had her stream your performance on her phone.
“What a pity I hadn’t kept a recording of it. After all, I had no idea the production team would do such a thing. I’m not sure whether she kept the video.”
As Selena spoke, she got more and more excited. “While I was playing around, trailing after my brother, you were already picking up the violin. You ended up playing a bunch of different instruments! In addition, this is only a hobby of yours.
“You were raised to inherit the family business. Back then…”
Selena paused suddenly.
The smile on Megan’s face froze, but her expression didn’t change much.
William had always been the source of her trauma. Troubles befell her after he had passed.
“Meg.” Selena held her hand.

Upon seeing Selena’s concerned expression, Megan was pulled out of her thoughts. She said, “You don’t have to tread carefully around me, Lena. I’m not that fragile. In addition, it all happened years ago. I’m doing quite well now, aren’t I?”
She squeezed Selena’s hand.
Megan didn’t seem like she was lying, so Selena sighed in relief.
After a moment of hesitation, she asked, “Then, how about her? What’s going on now?”
Looking into Selena’s eyes, Megan could tell that Selena was being extremely cautious while navigating the conversation.
There was only one person who could trigger such cautious discourse–Megan’s mother, Olivia.
