“Freya!” Ryan called out.

“Ah- Freya jolted awake from the dream, drenched in sweat.

Ryan was standing beside the sofa, reaching out to touch her forehead.

Freya was startled and quickly slapped his hand away. “What are you doing?”

Ryan looked completely confused. “Why do you look so scared? Did you have a nightmare?”

Freya glanced around. She was indeed still in the 64th–floor suite, but the living room wasn’t completely dark. There was only a dim night light glowing near the door.

She quickly put on her shoes and rushed over to open the window.

The night breeze was a bit cool but refreshingly dry.

There was no rain, let alone any kind of storm.

In the quiet night, she could even hear insects chirping in the grass below.

Suddenly, Freya realized it was just a dream.

But she couldn’t understand why she would have that kind of dream.

Freya tapped her head in frustration but felt a little more at ease.

Maybe it was because seeing Natalie jump off the building tonight had made her too tense.

“Are you alright?” Ryan’s voice sounded from behind.

Thinking of the vivid dream made Freya whole body break out in goosebumps.

She quickly shook her head, stepped aside to put some distance between them, and said, “I’m fine. Really, I’m fine now.”

Ryan walked toward her and said with a frown, “Did you dream of something scary? You’re sweating all over.”

As he spoke, he reached out his hand again.

Freya instinctively tried to step back, but she didn’t realize the kitchen counter was right behind her. Losing her balance, she fell backward.

“Hey-” Ryan quickly stepped forward, grabbed her hand, and pulled her back.

Luckily, she caught the back of the sofa and didn’t fall straight into his arms.

Ryan crossed his arms and smiled slightly. “Did you dream of a ghost?”

Freya was still shaken. “It was scarier than a ghost.”

“So, you dreamed that Liam came looking for you again?” asked Ryan.

Freya looked up and glared at him. She had to admit that he knew her quite well.

Compared to a ghost, she was more afraid of Liam’s relentless pursuit.

If it were a ghost, she could chant spells or fight it, but Liam… she really didn’t want to see him at that

moment.

Ryan said, “The news was all over tonight. Mrs. Grant was pushed to the edge and attempted suicide by jumping from Skaros Building. The hospital is probably surrounded by reporters now. I bet Liam is overwhelmed and has no time to bother you now.”

Freya nodded slightly at his words. “That’s good.”

“So you really dreamed of Liam?” asked Ryan.

Freya answered, “Yes.”
