Chapter 170

I bit back, my teeth finding the pulse at his throat, our blood mingling hot and coppery as the bond roared to life. It detonated in a blaze of pure white light and crackling power, fusing us atom by atom.
Lyssira shrieked inside me, wild and triumphant, “Rhygar!”
A deep rumble echoed through my soul, ancient and possessive. “Lyssira. You are mine now too.”
Two spirits. One bond. All–consuming. We screamed together, me, Vaelrix, Lyssira, and Rhygar, as the magic thrummed through our veins, heat crashing in waves, love and lust threading like gold through every fiber of my being, reshaping me from the inside out.
I would never be the same. And I didn’t fucking want to be.
Later…
My whole body ached in the best way. My thighs were jelly, trembling with aftershocks, my wrists still tingled from the enchanted binds like phantom kisses, and I swear I could still feel Vaelrix’s teeth on my chest, a sweet, throbbing mark that pulsed in time with my heartbeat.
The sheets were a disaster. Soaked with sweat and release. Torn at the edges from my thrashing. Scorched in faint, glittering patterns from unchecked magic. And I didn’t give a single damn.
I was sprawled half on top of him, my head resting on his bare chest, his heartbeat a slow, steady thunder beneath my ear. His skin was warm like sun–soaked stone, etched with faint scales that shimmered under the moonlight filtering through the arched windows, and his hand lazily traced up and down my spine, occasionally dipping low to cup my ass just to make me shiver and press closer.
We were silent for a long time. Just breathing. Letting the bond settle into place like molten gold hardening into unbreakable armor, warm and heavy and right.
Finally, I spoke, my voice soft and raw, wrecked from all the screaming. “So… are you coming to Earth with me?”
He rumbled, a sound of deep thought, his chest vibrating against my cheek. “It’s not safe there. Not for me. Not for our kind. Your world has forgotten dragons. They’ll try to kill me, or worse, study me like some lab rat.”
I pulled back just enough to look into those wild emerald eyes, still dark with lingering hunger. “Yeah, no one’s dissecting my dragon.”
His lips quirked in that dangerous half–smile, but the serious look returned, his hand tightening on my hip.
“We’d be better off bringing your people here. At least temporarily. The Dragonborn Court is fortified, woven with spells older than the stars. I can expand the keep. Enchant it against scrying and shadow–walks. We can build a second base here, one the Aegis can’t touch with their iron chains or blood rites.”
“And train?” I asked, propping myself up on one elbow, ignoring the delicious ache between my legs.
“I need my people stronger. Faster. Ready to fight back.”
He nodded, his free hand coming up to tuck a strand of my wild hair, now threaded with those impossible violet galaxies, behind my ear.

“Here, under my protection, they will thrive. I’ll bring my guards. Flamecallers to teach your witches fire without burning out. Stormbinders for the speed you crave. Riders to show them how to claim the skies. We’ll train your circle until they’re unbeatable, blades singing with lightning, spells sharp as dragon claws.”
A pause hung between us, heavy with the weight of what was coming. Then his voice dropped low and possessive, a growl that sent fresh heat pooling in my core. “No one will touch what’s mine. Not the Aegis with their hunter packs. Not the Hollow Creed and their whispering voids. Not the blood witch or her puppet king. I’ll raze their thrones to ash if they so much as scent you.”
