Chapter 179
My heart cracked a little deeper. “We might not get that. But if I can only save one daughter…I’ll take it.”
He pulled me tight, his voice raw. “Then we fight like hell.”
The next morning….
The morning was cool, crisp, and deceptively quiet. Too quiet for the weight I carried in my chest.
Beside me, Luna Nira walked with her head high, her golden hair twisted in an elegant crown braid, her eyes glowing with divine fire. She looked every bit the queen she was, until you noticed her hands trembling.
We said nothing as we passed the outer gardens, our guards giving us distance. Today was sacred.
The temples rose like ancient giants, carved into the cliffside, each dedicated to a different god or goddess. Some sparkled with moonstone and silver, others hummed with solar gold, and a few pulsed with elemental magic older than written time.
We began with the Moon Goddess…as we always did.
Inside the silver chamber, soft light spilled down in beams through the crystal roof. We knelt on the cold stone, our hands clasped, and I let my words pour like blood from a wound.
“Please,” I whispered. “Guide her. Soria is brave, but even the brave can fall.”
Nira didn’t speak out loud, but I felt the magic build around her, something fierce and grieving. A mother’s wrath. A healer’s rage. A
queen’s vow.
We moved on. To the Earth Temple for grounding. And finally, we reached the Temple of the Sun. This one was different.
Blinding gold light blazed from the roof, and warmth hit our skin like a physical hand. I stopped breathing for just a moment. Magic lived here. Ancient, potent, and aware.
Taya and Amaris were already waiting on the steps, both kneeling, heads bowed, glowing faintly from whatever energy had already touched them.
“Taya?” I asked gently. “What happened?”
Before she could answer, the golden light shifted. Concentrated. And He stepped forth. The Sun God.
Golden skin, eyes like burning dawn, hair like molten fire braided with flame opals. His form was humanoid, but it shimmered like he existed halfway between light and matter,
“You called,” he said, his voice a symphony of fire, deep and vibrating through the soul. “And I have heard.”
We all dropped to our knees instantly. The divine presence was overwhelming. He stepped forward, first to Luna Nira. His hand pressed gently over her heart.

Chapter 179
*You are the vessel of compassion,” he said. “But compassion must not come at the cost of mercy. Let the fire of purpose guide your healing.”
She gasped as golden light surged into her chest. Next, he knelt in front of Taya, his eyes soft.
“Your wolf burns with righteous fury. I bless your hands, child of moon and flame, to calm what breaks.”
Then to Amaris, who shook visibly.
“You’ve seen shadows. But I see light still in you. Use it. Heal others so you may finally heal yourself.”
Golden light flared and filled the temple. I wept openly. And then, as suddenly as he came…he vanished, leaving behind a warm breeze and a humming in our bones. We stood slowly, breathless. Taya was the first to break the silence. “He… he made my wolf stop howling. Just for a moment. I didn’t think that was possible.”
Amaris wiped her face. “I feel like I could stop a heart. Or restart one.”
“Let’s hope you don’t have to do both,” Nira muttered, still blinking at the warmth pulsing in her palms.
We activated the comm crystal immediately.

“Elowen,” I said, my voice steadier than I expected, “the Sun God came. He blessed Taya and Amaris and Luna Nira with enhanced healing. I believe… we’re almost ready.”
The crystal shimmered, and Elowen’s soft voice replied instantly. “Good. Because the dragons have gifted us something sacred.”
