Chapter 186
Vaelrix POV
Dragon Castle
Private Royal Suite
:.
(Late Evening)
The moment we closed the doors behind us, silence fell. Sweet. Fucking. Silence. After wrangling sixty two traumatized children into baths, bunks, and bedtime, even Elowen’s wolf sounded winded.
“Is it illegal to be this tired?” she muttered, leaning against the stone wall and scrubbing a hand over her face.
“Only in the fae realm,” I said, stepping past her with a smirk. “But luckily, you’re in dragon territory now. Come. Your new den awaits.”
She blinked. “Wait…now?”
“You need comfort. And so do they.” I nodded toward her mates, who were trailing behind like battle worn guards who’d just fought a war. Which, honestly, wasn’t far off.
Ashrian groaned. “If there’s not a bed the size of a damn lake, I’m rioting.”
“Oh, there’s a lake,” I said as I pushed open the massive black stone doors. “But it comes with blankets and a heated floor.”
The suite glowed to life with soft enchantments as we stepped inside, warm gold light spiraled through the carved walls, and a gentle fire crackled in the hearth.
Elowen gasped softly. “Oh… oh gods.”
The space unfolded like a dream. A sunken lounge with plush couches, bookshelves spilling over, and a table already set with tea and midnight snacks. The kitchen sparkled, its counters laced with stardust quartz. To the left was the private bath area, a massive natural hot spring framed by flowering vines and enchanted privacy wards.
But the real gasp worthy reveal came when the starlit ceiling above Elowen’s bed activated, casting constellations that shimmered and pulsed gently overhead.
“Welcome home,” I said.
Lachlan actually whistled. “Well, shit. If I die here, scatter mah ashes in that bathtub.”
“Call dibs on the deep end,” Ash mumbled, eyeing the hot tub with unholy intent.
“Is that a pantry?” Bram asked, immediately stomping toward it.
Daxon cracked a rare, tired grin. “Priorities, bear.”
“I need snacks,” Bram replied, already shoulder deep in dried meats.

Elowen hadn’t moved yet. She just stood there, tears threatening to fall from those beautiful blue eyes, and her shoulders shaking
I stepped closer, quietly. “You alright?”
She looked at me with wide, watery eyes. “Vaelrix… this is… I don’t even have words.”
“You don’t need any. You brought light into my home,” I said softly. “You deserve one of your own.”
She crossed the room in three steps and hugged me tight. Not polite. Not dainty. Just real, bone deep gratitude.
“Thank you,” she whispered. “For all of it.”
Each mate took a moment to explore. The magically stocked closets got gasps and curses of delight. Ash opened his to find a full rack of his favorite black combat gear. “Did you have a psychic style consultant stalking me?”
“No,” I said smugly. “Just excellent taste.”
Lachlan emerged from his own closet in a fluffy purple robe embroidered with golden runes and a miniature dragon on the back.
“Try and take this from me. Go on. I dare ye,” he muttered, already lighting candles with a flick of his fingers.
Elowen’s closet was the size of a temple. Her gowns and battle armor alike hung in perfect rows, a mix of witchy elegance and divine strength.
“This is too much,” Elowen said, turning in a slow circle. “I don’t even know where to sit down first.”
“Bed,” Bram grunted. “We sit our asses on the damn bed.”
