Zoe closed the door behind her. “The two little ones are here, too?”

mom!”

Arielle said bluntly, “We’re not talking about her. We’re talking about Rhea. Rhea is our mom.”

Sharon didn’t say anything more and took a seat beside Lauren. “You still haven’t won them over?”

Lauren sighed and replied softly, “I don’t know what kind of spell Rhea put over them. They won’t accept me no matter what I do.”

“Don’t worry about it. Whether they accept you doesn’t matter. What matters is that Carter accepts you.”

Sharon snorted. “That woman’s just a homewrecker. She takes what’s yours and acts like she’s completely in the right.”

Carter stood up and said, “I need to take a call.”
