The security guards looked at Lauren and her friends like they were no more than corpses. The women had never experienced anything like this.
“I was wrong… I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!” Zoe apologized through her tears.
Lauren gritted her teeth, feeling utterly humiliated.
Less than three minutes later, Sharon, who was still being manhandled by one of the security guards, cried in fear, “No, don’t! Don’t touch me! I shouldn’t have said that! I won’t say it again! Please…”
Half a minute later, the security dragged Sharon out of the room. Her clothes were tattered, her hair was a mess, and her makeup was smeared.
She looked at Rhea and her friends, trembling from her fear. She couldn’t believe that they were as calm and composed as if nothing had happened. They showed no fear of having committed a crime! How dare they!
Sharon grabbed her phone and tapped 911 onto the screen, mustering her courage to cry, “You people are lawless! Do you really think you run this place?”
Everyone ignored her. To Rhea’s girlfriends, trading insults with people like Sharon was beneath them. Their parents would think they had no self–respect if they were to get entangled with people
like her.
Liora looked at Lauren. “In Draveth, we don’t even bother with those cheap tricks you pull. Be classy if you want to play. Can you do that?”
Lauren was on the brink of a meltdown. Her emotions and reason threatened to snap.
She’d never encountered a situation where she was utterly helpless and unable to retaliate when in
conflict with others.
She thought that these women were too much.
Liora stepped forward and patted Lauren’s ashen face. “You’re a mother, so I won’t humiliate you with your children around. Don’t go looking for trouble, though. Do you understand me?”
Lauren gritted her teeth. Her chest heaved with rage.
Valerie graciously tucked her hair behind her ears. “All of this alcohol is pretty expensive. Since you and your friends have already opened these bottles, make sure you drink every last drop.”
How could Lauren and her friends still be in the mood for drinks?

Chapter 149
Carter’s voice was strained as he said, “Don’t take things too far.”

“Oh?” Rhea chuckled softly and stepped back as she waved at the two security guards. Her gaze was contemptuous as she said, “Take him away from here.”
Carter was seized and yanked out of the private room almost as soon as the words were out of his mouth. He cried, “Rhea, you—”
The door was slammed shut, cutting off his despicable voice.
Rhea turned to look at Lauren with genuine confusion. “The children are your flesh and blood, but do you think of them as nothing but playthings?”
She’d put in so much energy and her youth into raising Arielle and Adrian. Yet now, she had to stand by and watch as they were insulted and forced to drink.
She’d bottled her rage up for far too long. She didn’t even need to say what she wanted aloud–her girlfriends already knew.
And so…
Liora grabbed Lauren by her hair and pinned her to the couch. Carolyn, quick on the uptake, grabbed a bottle of hard liquor and started forcing the liquid down Lauren’s throat.
Rhea sat down and crossed her arms. “Since you enjoy drinking so much, I’ll foot the bill for all of this. Go ahead and have as much as you want.”
Valerie looked at Sharon. “Are you going to call the police or not? Do it now if you are. We have other plans later.”
Sharon froze, wondering if these women were even afraid of the police. She didn’t buy it!
“Hi, I’d like to make a police report. We have lawless criminals here!” She told the police where she
was.
After hanging up, she glared at Valerie and the others. “Just wait–I’ll make sure all of you end up behind bars! You’ll have this on your records!”
Sharon was the daughter of the wealthiest man in Colburn. She had connections everywhere! These stupid, arrogant women didn’t realize that there would always be someone more powerful than them. The nerve of them, bullying her like this! She wouldn’t let them off the hook once she was out of this place!
