Chapter 239
George stood tall in his tailored suit as he replied in a calm and steady tone, “Mr. Deleon, it’s an honor for the companies in Draventh to have you here again, looking for new partnerships.”
“Oh, please. This city is full of talent. It would be a real mistake if we didn’t come.” Jack laughed warmly.
As they spoke, Rhea’s gaze accidentally met George’s. She didn’t flinch or look away. Instead, she simply gave him a small smile and a polite nod in greeting.
Since that day when she picked up the children, they hadn’t seen each other again. He appeared to have lost some weight.
Jack suddenly turned. “Mr. Ravelle, Ms. Ravelle!”
Rhea blinked in surprise. “Mr. Deleon, you actually remember me?”
“Of course I do! Back then, you and your father were the ones giving our company valuable advice. You were so young, but your vision was sharp. I’ve never forgotten about you!”
Jack had always held the Ravelle family in high regard. Otherwise, he never would have treated Carter with such courtesy.
“It’s been years, and you’ve grown even more radiant and charming,” Jack praised.
Rhea smiled. “And where’s Mrs. Deleon? Didn’t you bring her along?”
“She’s here. She’s just resting in the hotel,” Jack replied.
That was when Carter spoke up. “Mr. Deleon.”
Jack looked in the direction of the voice, then turned to Rhea. “So you both came as a couple! That’s wonderful. I heard you got married. I’m so sorry I wasn’t here to attend the ceremony.”
Rhea froze. She wondered how Jack knew about that.
Carter was just about to respond when Rhea cut in, “Don’t worry about it. We’re getting divorced soon.”
“Divorce?”
Jack had lived abroad for years, but he wasn’t unfamiliar with the social nuances of Dalea. For Rhea to mention it openly here meant that the split was inevitable.
Moreover, it revealed that the Ravelle family had no intention of being tied to Carter anymore. Otherwise, Rhea never would have said it so bluntly.

Since that was the case…
Jack didn’t let any reaction show on his face. “Ms. Ravelle, Mr. Jamison, you’re both extraordinary. I’m sure you’ll land on your feet no matter where life takes you.”
“Please, have a seat, Mr. Deleon,” Nathan said.
“Thank you.”
Several foreign companies had come along with Jack, and since the goal was to explore new partnerships, conversation was inevitable. They broke off into small groups, exchanging introductions and exploring whether there were promising projects worth pursuing together.
Rhea skimmed through the stacks of documents.
With a spark in his eyes, Jack asked, “Ms. Ravelle, could I trouble you to share your thoughts? Which of these projects looks promising to you?”
Many of the companies‘ representatives who followed Jack’s lead remained in their vicinity. Soon, a group formed around Rhea, Nathan, and George.
Carter, meanwhile, was left on the sidelines.
He could only watch as Rhea, with effortless poise, analyzed industries and broke down the strengths and weaknesses of each sector. She seemed to shine in that setting. It was a far cry the image of her in the kitchen at home, wearing an apron.
Just then, George lightly tapped the document Rhea was reviewing.

She noticed where his fingers had brushed over the page. She looked at him and asked, “You’ve looked into this one before?”
