Marcus briefly considered it before saying, “Maybe Ms. Ravelle just prefers a more conservative approach. Those two projects won’t make a fortune, but at least they won’t lose money.”

The foreign investors frowned, thinking that it wasn’t enough. They hadn’t traveled such a distance just for a couple of safe, break–even ventures.

Rhea looked at Carter. “Mr. Jamison, aside from the medical equipment industry, have you done any research or market visits in the other industries?”

Carter froze when he heard those words because he hadn’t.

Rhea was ruthless. “If you know nothing, then don’t speak.”

She didn’t want to give him the slightest bit of courtesy.

From Jack’s brief words earlier, Rhea was certain that Carter must have met with him in private. And Jack seemed unusually aware of the fact that Rhea and Carter had once been married.

With that, Rhea suspected that Carter was trying to leverage the Ravelle family name for his own gain. There was no way she would allow it.

She also wouldn’t have Jack liaise with Carter for his construction investments.

Marcus tried to smooth things over. “There’s no need to be so harsh, Ms. Ravelle. After all, you’re still technically married.”

Jack just blinked. He couldn’t really intervene in someone else’s family affairs.

He took the two project files. “I’ll consider your advice, Ms. Ravelle.”

Nathan added, “Mr. Deleon, if you decide to proceed, the Ravelle family is willing to cover all costs. You’ll only need to handle the construction itself.”

Rhea turned to Jack. “Mr. Deleon, I can’t promise everything, but if you want to develop commercial buildings in Dalea, no one offers a more secure investment than the Ravelle family.”
