Chapter 350
Liam didn’t stop Rhea from speaking. Sipping his tea, he leaned back casually as he listened, a faint smile playing on his face.
No one had the right to look down on Rhea. He didn’t expect everyone to like her, but if someone had never received her help, what gave them the right to criticize or judge her?
Nevertheless, as the head of the family, he had to stay composed. If it had been Charlie and Lara sitting here instead, things might have gotten out of hand.
And, as luck would have it…
“Sir, ma’am, Mr. and Mrs. Ravelle Senior are here.”
Ruby’s eyes widened. “What?”
She couldn’t believe that they had come without even giving them a heads–up.
Philip looked anxious. “The real problem is, they ran into Carter outside, and they’ve already started fighting!”
Charlie, a major general from the founding era, had always been fierce, decisive, and ruthless. Now that he was old, his beloved grandchildren were what he cared about the most.
When he heard about the recent troubles in Draventh, he rushed over early in the morning with Lara and just so happened to spot Carter getting out of the car.
True to his temper, Charlie charged at Carter like lightning. With a single kick, he knocked the latter flat on the ground.
Arielle clutched Charlie’s leg. “Great–grandpa, please don’t be angry!”
She recognized Charlie as Rhea’s grandfather and addressed him accordingly.
Charlie, mid–rage, glared down at the young girl. “Kiddo, step aside! I’m not your great–grandpa! My granddaughter has never had kids!”
“But Mom raised Adrian and me! She will always be our mom at heart. She’s the best mom ever! She has her own life now, so Dad’s the only one we have left. If anything happens to him, Adrian and I will be left on the streets, Great–grandpa!”
Arielle clung tighter to Charlie’s leg, refusing to let go.
She wasn’t truly worried about Carter. She just knew that if something happened to him, there would
be no one to take care of her and Adrian.

Chapter 350
Arielle was practical. It was a trait she had inherited from Carter.

Her words touched Charlie a little. At least these two kids weren’t ungrateful. They still had a sense of right and wrong.
Charlie bent down and looked at Arielle coldly. “Step back. I promise I won’t kill him.”
Arielle frowned. “Really?”
“I always keep my word. Why would I lie to a child?”
“Okay.” Arielle finally loosened her grip and stepped back a few paces.
Meanwhile, Charlie surged at Carter again, who had barely gotten to his feet. Fists rained down like thunder, leaving Carter unable even to cry out.
“You worthless bastard! Who even wants you? You’ve mistreated Rhea! Back in my day, I would have shot you right here!” Charlie roared, furious.
Lara stood off to the side, looking calm and collected. But she was just as angry inside, so she fully supported Charlie in teaching this shameless and disrespectful young man a lesson.
