Chapter 460
Kate’s words immediately set the translation team buzzing.

They couldn’t believe that Rhea had been married. So was this going to be her second marriage?
“Don’t worry. Our lips are sealed. Everyone on the translation team signs a confidentiality agreement, and we certainly wouldn’t blab,” one of her colleagues said.
Another lowered her voice and asked, “How did Ms. Ravelle end up divorced?”
Kate pressed her lips together, her eyes softening with a hint of sympathy. “Those are painful memories. I’d rather not bring it up and upset Rhea. After all, she married down into a family with a man who already had children. She became a housewife and cared for her stepchildren. It was hard
work for her.”
A member of the project team, who was returning from the restroom, walked past and overheard Kate speaking. Her eyes went wide at once.
She couldn’t believe it.
She hurried back to Annie’s table. “Ms. Levy, you won’t believe what I just heard!”
“What is it?” Annie’s scowl never left her face.
“It’s about Ms. Ravelle,” the team member whispered, then quickly spread the news within a small
circle.
For a moment, the entire project team fell silent. More than anything, they felt a strong sense of
resistance toward Rhea.
How could a woman who let love cloud her judgment, married beneath her, and spent years as a housewife possibly deserve the position of project director?
How much did headquarters get from the Ravelle family to make such a ridiculous arrangement?
Upon hearing that, Annie felt even more outraged.
She didn’t look down on housewives, but what right did a woman who was driven by love have to hold that position? Was it just because her family was rich and influential?
In Annie’s eyes, these rich heirs and heiresses were worthless, with no real talent to speak of, yet they loved giving orders and flaunting their meager power.
With a loud bang, Annie slammed down her glass.
She wanted to see what Rhea could actually do to win over the project team. If she failed, the team

could always report her to headquarters together.

The next day, Annie ran into Kate in the elevator.
Kate smiled faintly. “Morning, Ms. Levy.”
Annie nodded and asked curiously, “What’s with the cart?”
“I got coffee for everyone. It’s from a place I’ve tried before. It’s pretty good,” Kate replied.
Annie lowered her gaze, saying nothing.
“Take two cups with you, Ms. Levy,” Kate offered.
Annie waved her off. “One’s fine. I brought fruit. You can have it.”
Kate accepted it with a quiet thank–you.
Once out of the elevator, Kate watched Annie walk away.
She hoped she had made a good impression. Annie was one of the few who could resist Rhea, and she needed her on her side.
Meanwhile, Annie’s expression remained sour as she walked on ahead.
She hated heiresses who relied on their family’s status like Rhea, but she hated a fake friend like Kate
even more.
Annie tossed the coffee into the project team’s trash bin. She didn’t think either of them was worth her respect.
At that moment, Gloria appeared. “Ms. Levy, Ms. Ravelle would like to see you in her office.”
Annie set down her bag, straightened her outfit, and forced a smile, “Alright.”
Like a warrior heading to the battlefield, she marched to the director’s office with her head held high.
Rhea’s office was right next to the translation team.
Kate, whose desk was in the corner, noticed the scene and smirked. Annie looked tough.
“I hope you can handle her, Rhea,” she thought.
Whispers started again among the translation team.
