Chapter 484
Damian replied, “Yes. We spent a lot of time together when we were abroad.”
Rhea nodded. “I see. Anyway, my negligence has led to my personal matters affecting the company. I’m sorry, Mr. Frost.”
Damian smiled. “There’s no need to apologize. Everyone has experienced some family drama. But…
He glanced at Kate. “Camilla sent out a public notice. I’ve heard that you’ve been gossiping about Ms. Ravelle to your colleagues. That’s not allowed at Solaris-”
A knock on the door cut him off. He paused and said, “Come in.”
Damian’s secretary, Russell Fleming, stepped in and reported quietly, “Mr. Frost, Mr. Burton is here.
Mr. Burton? Sawyer?
Russell hesitated. “He just asked me where Ms. Pearson is.

Kate’s head shot up. “Sawyer’s here?” Her voice carried a faint trace of excitement.
Damian had been about to reprimand her, but with Sawyer present, everything could be smoothed over. After all, Damian and Sawyer were close. She was confident that Damian would take her side.
Damian stood. “Please take him to the VIP room.” Then he turned to the group. “Please wait here for

Since her boss had given the order, Rhea, of course, complied. She wasn’t the least bit tense, though.

You’ve probably been waiting for Mr. Burton to come looking for you, right? And you call yourself from a family of scholars? You really have no shame!”
Her words were crude, each one hitting Kate right where it hurt.
But Kate endured, maintaining her smile. “Miss, I’ve long forgotten past grudges. I just want to live well and support myself. You shouldn’t dwell on the past either.”
Damian’s office had no cameras, so Kate wasn’t afraid. But her tone clearly denied any connection with Lauren or Carter.

Even Carter was stunned.
This was the same Kate who had offered to help him win Rhea back. Now, not only was she the one who had poisoned his kids, but she was denying everything?
Carter, numb as he had been feeling lately, could still tell right from wrong.
Lauren and Carter, both with nothing left to lose, almost shouted in unison, “Are you even human?”
That was a powerful question.
Kate’s lashes trembled, but she refused to admit anything. What could these two do to her?
If they teamed up with Rhea against her, it would only make Rhea appear weaker. That way, she could draw sympathy and pity, especially in front of Sawyer.
Rhea narrowed her eyes. “George was right. You really rely on men now.”
They could curse her all they wanted, but the moment George’s name came up, Kate felt like her heart was being torn apart.
“Rhea, what happens between us is our business. Using George to put me down-”
