I Quit Being a Stepmother (Cypress Gem) novel Chapter 506

Damian recognized Seamus. Although the latter was just a secretary, his sharp mind and quick thinking made him more than capable of handling a deputy CEO or vice presidential role.

Damian admired talent like that. Perhaps one day, if George ever decided to let him go, he would poach Seamus with a hefty offer.

"Mr. Whitfield, have a seat." Despite being the head of a major company, Damian stood up to shake Seamus' hand. It was a clear sign of his respect and admiration.

Seamus was all polite and respectful as he said, "You're too kind, Mr. Frost. Please, sit. I'm just here to run an errand for Mr. Snider."

"You're here, so you're a friend. Join us for dinner," Damian said, motioning for his assistant to get the waiter to bring an extra set of cutlery.

Once Seamus sat, Damian joked, "If Mr. Snider ever lets you go, I'd love to work with you, Mr. Whitfield."

George didn't take offense. Everyone loved a good talent, after all.

Seamus laughed. "I appreciate the vote of confidence, Mr. Frost, but I know my limits. I'm nowhere near your level. I'm just grateful Mr. Snider doesn't mind me tagging along as his secretary to make a living."

Seamus was indeed such a smooth talker.

Kate's expression darkened behind her polite facade. She thought that he was such a two-faced snake!

"Oh, my. Kate, you don't look very happy," Lauren remarked, her eyes practically glued to Kate. She caught every twitch in her facial expression.

Kate was beyond fed up with Lauren's constant scrutiny. "Eat your food. I'm just a little tired."

The left side of the table was where the executives conducted business, and the right side was where the rest of the business trip crew chatted.

"You, tired?" Lauren scoffed. "We're the ones running around like crazy, but do you see us complaining about being tired? You're just a glorified paperweight, and you claim to be exhausted."
