Rhea's eyes glinted. "A lifetime is a long time—who can say what will happen down the road?"
George just smiled at her.
"If I decide I don't want kids in the future, would you be okay with that?" she asked.
He smiled warmly. "Of course."
Rhea was a little surprised. "You're your family's sole heir. If you don't have kids…"
"We won't have them if you don't want to. Why worry about anything else?"
Rhea broke away from him and walked toward the couch by the floor-to-ceiling windows, her hands clasped behind her back. She gazed out at the chilly, foreign city. "When it snows again, go skiing with me."
George's tone remained gentle and accommodating as he said, "Alright."
"Just the two of us—no one else."
He nodded. "Deal."
She glanced back at him. "Why do you agree to everything I say?"
"You're my fiancee, aren't you?"
"What if I make some ridiculous demands?"
George pinched the soft spot at the back of her neck. "I'll find a way to make them reasonable, then."
Rhea's lashes fluttered. Even after all this time, his over-the-top indulgence still caught her off guard, even surprising her sometimes. How could he be so wonderful? He had such a pleasant temperament, too.
She couldn't help but turn to him and wrap her arms tightly around his waist. She tilted her head up to rest her chin on his chest. "George."
"Yeah?" He could never get enough of her. Every hug and every moment she leaned into him always got his immediate response. He hugged her back.
"Are you always this nice?" she asked.
That question made him pause for a moment. Then, he said, "All my tenderness is for you."
"I don't buy it. You're nice to Nathan, too, and you're always so polished and refined with strangers."
"That's just an act," George said, laughing softly. "I'm a businessman, not a fighter."
