In the past, people would have thought that Kate was being kind with her offer.
But now, they just saw her as a nouveau riche show-off. Every sentence she spoke highlighted how doting Sawyer was toward her.
Who would do that?
George poured his heart out to Rhea, yet she never bragged like this.
"By the way, I'd also like your help choosing a wedding dress." Kate took out her phone.
Valerie finally spoke up. "You're not having a custom dress made?"
Kate shook her head. "No, I'll just buy a ready-made one. Maybe a unique piece from an exclusive designer. Time's too tight for custom."
"What if it doesn't fit?" Valerie asked.
Kate laughed softly. "Sawyer said that there are many famous designers out there. One of their works is bound to fit me."
Evelyn couldn't help rolling her eyes. She felt utterly speechless.
Carolyn looked at Kate. "Then why not just buy a bunch you like and try them all on? Our tastes are different. What we pick might not suit you."
As soon as Carolyn said that, Evelyn silently counted in her mind.
Three…
Two…
One…
Then, Kate chuckled again. "It's okay. Sawyer told me…"
Evelyn immediately covered her ears.
She did it openly, so Kate noticed it. "Evelyn, what are you—"
Evelyn frowned and bluntly said, "Could you stop bringing up your boyfriend every three sentences? You like him fine, but others get tired of hearing it."
