I gave a small nod, and Nathan began pushing my wheelchair forward.

But Aiden rushed to block my path.

“Babe, the doctor’s here, right? Please… just save the baby in her belly. He’s a boy. He’s our future heir!”

I let out a cold laugh. “Your kid, not my heir”

I pointed at my stomach.

“There’s something you probably didn’t know. The next CEO of Hawthorne Group must be born from me. Boy or girl, my child gets it

all.”

“And you let your mistress kill the true heir–my child.”

With that, I tossed a divorce agreement at his feet.

“We’re done. I want a divorce.”

Aiden dropped to his knees with a loud thud.

“No! I won’t agree to a divorce!”

My voice turned ice cold. “You don’t get a say.”

“You cheated. You got your mistress pregnant while I was carrying your child. And then you let her flaunt herself in public as the wife of the wealthiest man in Ravenshire. You’re a cheating bigamist, Aiden.”

He clung to my leg like a madman.

“No… you can’t do this to me. As long as I don’t sign it, you can’t leave me.”

I looked down at him in disgust.

“Have you forgotten what you signed before we got married?”

Back when Aiden proposed, he’d groveled at my feet to marry me. To prove his loyalty, he signed a prenuptial agreement–any infidelity meant he’d walk away with nothing.

Aiden froze. He collapsed, staring blankly at the floor.

“No… No, this can’t be happening.”

He looked over at Vanessa, still bleeding on the floor. Then his expression shifted into something twisted.

“If her child dies, it doesn’t count as cheating, right?”

He suddenly stomped toward her and kicked her straight in the stomach.

“If I kill it now, there’s no proof it was mine!”

He kicked her again. And again.

Vanessa’s screams echoed through the hallway, raw and piercing. But Aiden didn’t stop–he was like a man possessed.

Then his eyes locked on a chair nearby.

He grabbed it and raised it high, aiming for her belly.

“If you lose the baby, no one can prove it was mine. That means I get to keep everything!”

Bloodied and half–conscious, Vanessa grabbed a knife lying nearby.

She lunged forward and plunged it deep into Aiden’s chest.
