Chapter 423 Visiting Nicholas’ Home
“No, no, I’m fine!”
Kylie didn’t press anymore. She just watched, worried, as Nadine carried the wedding dress
out.
“Mom, I’m going to ship this. I’ll tell you as soon as it’s done,” Nadine muttered and walked off quickly.
“Be careful!”
Kylie’s advice was still in the air when Nadine was already outside the villa’s gate.
As soon as she was out of Kylie’s sight, a black car pulled up right in front of the villa.
Henry lowered the window and told the driver to put the box in the trunk.
Nadine got into the back seat, out of breath. “Dad, why are you coming yourself?”
Henry narrowed his eyes. “Not only am I coming myself, but I’m delivering it myself too.”
Nadine looked a bit confused.
Henry opened the photo Nadine had just sent him. “This address is all the way in Kingsland. After all this time, your mom’s worry makes sense.”
If the Larsons flat-out refused to recognize Kylie as their daughter, he’d lose everything, including a 400-million-dollar wedding dress.
“Should we find someone to make a high-quality replica and send that first?” Nadine suggested, frowning.
“No.” Henry shook his head.
He knew what kind of elite family the Larsons were. With their wealth and influence, no one there would fall for a fake.
To be safe, he decided to deliver the package himself and see how the Larsons reacted.
“Nadine, please keep going back to the apartment and taking care of your mom for a while,” Henry told her softly.
Nadine happily agreed and nodded repeatedly.
The black car sped off.
Kylie stared at the empty front gate, let out a long sigh, and went back inside to curl up on the couch.
“Dad, Mom, will you forgive me?”
The whisper quickly faded into the quiet air.
The quiet filled the entire villa, like a monstrous vine growing to strangle her heart.
Krigan.
Lyra and Tess followed the GPS and stopped in front of a house deep inside an alley.
“Excuse me, is this Nicholas’ place?
“Is anyone home?”
They knocked several times, but there was no response from inside.
They exchanged a look and saw the same suspicion and confusion in each other’s eyes.
“What’s going on?” Lyra murmured, frowning.
Bang, bang, bang!
“Anybody-”
“Enough already?!”
Tess knocked again, but before she could finish, the door next door suddenly opened, followed by an irritated shout.
A middle-aged woman with messy blonde hair glared at them, full of annoyance. “What are you brats doing? Can’t I get some sleep?!”
Lyra quickly apologized. “Sorry for disturbing your rest. We’re looking for someone, but they haven’t answered, so maybe we were a bit loud.”
As she spoke, she slipped a handful of cash into the woman’s hand.
The dry feel of the bills immediately filled her palm.
The woman’s expression softened. She coughed and put aside her irritation. “Oh, you should’ve said so earlier.”
She then looked at the neighboring door and became quite chatty. “You’re late. They moved out recently. It was a fancy car that came and picked them up.”
