Chapter 113 The Cobalt Cartel
The man finally got a good look at Skylar’s clothes and realized he wasn’t an ordinary person.
“So you want to stand up for these two old geezers? That’ll cost you 10 thousand dollars!”
“Sounds good. We’ll give it to you when you die,” Nancy replied, her tone dripping with
bravado.
“You little bitch!” The woman glared at Nancy and lunged for her hair. She’d been in the
streets for years and knew how to handle a woman.
“Ah!”
A scream tore through the air at this moment. The woman’s hand was grabbed, and with a single, swift kick, she was sent flying.
Nancy blinked, momentarily stunned. She was about to strike, but the woman was already sprawled on the ground.
Looking up, Nancy saw Gideon standing beside her. He must have just come from the office as he was still impeccably dressed in a suit, his calm composure untouched by the chaos around
them.
“You! Don’t you know the Cobalt Cartel?” the man shouted, staring at the carnage they’d caused. “I can tell you’re important people. If you don’t pay our medical bills today, I’ll go after your companies one by one and make sure you can’t ever work in peace!”
Hearing this, the other customers froze in terror.
The Cobalt Cartel was a notorious gang in Riversdale.
These days, people would sooner risk offending a gentleman than a gang member. After all, gangsters were notorious for theft, assault, and all manner of crimes. Countless lives had been destroyed by them.
The restaurant owner and her husband’s faces were drained of color. It seemed that their luck had run out today. They had crossed paths with the Cobalt Cartel.
“I’ll give you money, but we don’t have that much. Can we pay in installments?” The owner
sobbed.
The man sneered and rose to his feet. “That was the price before. Now that these two have injured us, the medical bills are 10 thousand each!”

Gasps echoed through the room.
The Cobalt Cartel was indeed ruthless.
The owners sank to the floor, crying. “We… We really don’t have that kind of money!”
“No money? Then these two can pay!” The man turned arrogantly toward Gideon and Skylar. ” You two look well-off enough. Surely you can’t be telling me that you can’t cough up 10 grand?
Gideon remained calm. “Don’t worry about my wealth. You won’t get a single penny.”
The man laughed scornfully. “Funny! Do you even know who the Cobalt Cartel is?” He puffed out his chest, full of pride.
A police siren wailed in the distance.
Soon, a squad car screeched to a halt, and officers stepped out. The man noticed them but remained unfazed. “You really think calling the cops will stop us? The Cobalt Cartel isn’t afraid of the police!”
“Someone reported you for causing a disturbance. You’re coming with us,” an officer said. In the next instant, handcuffs snapped onto the man’s wrists, and another officer cuffed the
woman.
The man’s eyes widened in disbelief. “I’m with the Cobalt Cartel! You dare take me in?”
The officer’s expression remained stern. “The Cobalt Cartel? Not today. Even your gang leader
can’t save you now.”
He then bowed slightly to Gideon. “My apologies, Mr. Fuller. We’ll make sure these two learn
their lesson.”
The man’s eyes widened in shock.
Mr. Fuller? Which Mr. Fuller? It couldn’t be the one from Boraska, right?
Gideon waved a hand dismissively.
The police officer, hauling the man along, sneered. “You have a lot of nerve. You managed to offend all three of Boraska’s most powerful families at once.”
The man’s vision darkened. Only now did he understand why the officer had said even the gang boss couldn’t save him. His stomach twisted with regret, but it was too late.
After the man was taken away, the restaurant owners couldn’t stop thanking Nancy and the
others.

“Thank you so much, miss! Thank you, sir!”
“Don’t mention it,” Hillary said with a carefree smile. “Just get more barbecue ready! We’re starving!”
“Right away! I’ll start preparing it now. Tonight, it’s on us, no matter how much you eat!” the owners replied, hurrying off.
Gideon sat down next to Nancy. “Are you scared?”
Nancy shook her head. “No. But I am surprised by how bold the local gangs have become.”
“They are bold indeed,” Gideon agreed. “But they still don’t dare mess with anyone from
Boraska.”
