Kneel Down to Win Back the Heiress Queen novel Chapter 25

Chapter 25 Live for Yourself

Yelena, Hillary, and Nancy attended one of the most prestigious high schools in Boraska. Most of the students there were from respectable families, with a minority consisting of smart students under the school scholarship.

It was common for the scholarship students to be bullied by the rich kids, and Natalie had once been the victim. Ever since Nancy stood up for her, Natalie stuck to her like a shadow and eventually wormed her way into their trio.

At first, Natalie had been kind and genuine. Since the girls weren’t the kind who cared about a person’s background, they gradually accepted Natalie out of respect for Nancy.

Nancy suggested, “Hillary, maybe you’re jumping to conclusions. What if it wasn’t Natalie?”

Hillary said angrily, “I’m sure it’s her. I really saw her hanging out with Winter. Natalie obviously knows you don’t go along with Winter, and that can only mean one thingshe thinks the Moores abandoned you.”

Nancy’s gaze darkened, and Yelena cursed, “Damn it. I can’t believe Natalie’s someone like that! Don’t let it get to you, Nancy.”

At that, a notification popped up in the group. “Yelena transferred one million dollars to Nancy.”

“You’re better off without someone like her. We’ll always have your back!” said Yelena.

Touched, Nancy said,

“Yelena…”

“Anyway, I’ve got to go. I have a meeting to attend,” Yelena informed them and left the call.

The smile on Nancy’s lips froze. She couldn’t believe her friend was more workaholic than herself.

“Food’s ready. Wash your hands and dig in,” came a deep, masculine voice.

Nancy looked up to find Gideon walking over with the dishes. At that moment, he gave off a homely vibe.

Meanwhile, Hillary was shocked. “What the hell? Nancy, are you with a man? Who is it? Is it Gideon?”

Gideon looked over, making Nancy feel awkward. She hurriedly explained, “It’s not what you think. I’ll explain later.”

Nancy ended the call and dropped a few texts to explain things in the group chat. After washing her hands, she sat at the table and stared at the dishes. There were country–style ribs, garlic butter lobster, sautéed vegetables, and spicy seafood chowder–all with a spicy kick. Suddenly, Nancy felt her appetite spark. “I didn’t think you’d be this good at cooking.”

I lived on my own when I was abroad,” answered Gideon, piling food on her plate.

Nancy commented, “The food you’ve made is so good. But you don’t look like someone who’s good at cooking.

“Then what kind of person am I?” Gideon leaned against the chair, a teasing smile playing at the corners of his lips. “I think you’re like Yelena, someone who’s always working and has no time to cook.”

Nancy laughed but quickly recomposed herself. Exactly.”
