Chapter 24 A Fight

Gideon’s defined features softened with a hint of a smile. “Don’t mention it. You were put in a tough spot because of me.”

“It’s not your fault. She just doesn’t like me.”

Taking the gift from Nancy, Gideon offered, “Do you want to stay for a meal?”

“Huh?”

Fixing his gaze on Nancy, Gideon explained, “I’ll cook. You haven’t eaten, have you?”

Nancy hadn’t eaten yet, but what really caught her off guard was Gideon. She thought someone like him would live a luxurious life and have everything done for him.

Nancy didn’t expect that he could cook. Unable to contain her curiosity, she nodded and accepted the offer.

As they entered the house, Gideon removed his coat, revealing the white shirt that clung to his broad shoulders and narrow waist. Nancy couldn’t help but steal a couple of glances at the faint outline of his firm chest muscles.

“What do you want to eat?” asked Gideon.

“I’m fine with anything.”

“Okay. Have a seat. It’ll be done in a while,” said Gideon as he turned to enter the kitchen.

Nancy sat quietly, on the couch, watching him cook skillfully in the kitchen through the glass. There was something attractive about his calm, domestic confidence.

Nancy finally understood why Winter was so crazy about him. She sent Hillary a text, “Winter’s in Boraska.”

Hillary replied, “She’s probably after Gideon. Anyway, she actually has a job. She’s now the CEO of Blossom Skincare, which sells skincare products, too. They asked me to be their spokesperson two days ago.”

Nancy replied, “Yup. Winter even knows I’m here to look for my family, but she thinks the Moores abandoned me.”

Nancy had been telling everyone that she was there for work, but Winter came right out and said she had been abandoned by the Moores.
