Chapter 30 Perpetual Glory

“Is a fleeting moment of glory enough to blind you?” Nancy’s voice was cold. “At Duran, we aim for lasting glory.” “How laughable. If you’re so capable, why not surpass us first?” Rebecca shot back, her tone dripping with disdain.

Raine tugged at her arm. “Rebecca, don’t waste your breath on them.”

“You’re right. These losers aren’t worth our time,” Rebecca agreed with a nod before striding away.

Clara and the others seethed, but Nancy remained composed. “It’s fine. Let them go. Come on, let’s head back to our rooms and rest. We’ll start the

barbecue later.”

“Exactly. We’re here to have fun. There’s no point letting people like that ruin our mood,” Clara agreed.

Then, everyone returned to their rooms.

Nancy changed into casual clothes, then stepped out onto the balcony. In the distance, mountain peaks crisscrossed the horizon, while closer by, grass swayed gently beside a calm lake. The fresh air carried the quiet embrace of nature, filling her with a deep sense of peace.

She left her room and headed toward the barbecue area, which was just a short walk away.

One of the resort’s charms was that guests could cook their own meals.

Several employees who had finished preparing were already at the grills, and the rich, savory aroma drifted through the air.

The only downside was that the two barbecue areas were set too close together, and just a few steps away, Winter and her team were gathered.

“Ms. Moore, you should try this,” Hannah said, handing her a freshly grilled skewer.

Wearing a faint smile, Nancy replied, “Thank you, Hannah.”

Hannah was momentarily stunned by her beauty. After a few seconds, she managed to reply, “You’re welcome, Ms. Moore.”

No matter how long she worked with Nancy, she would still be mesmerized by her stunning looks from time to time.

While a cozy atmosphere filled the air on one side, Winter, Raine, and a few others sat nearby, their expressions sour. Winter took a bite of a skewer Rebecca had grilled, then tossed it onto the ground.
