hapter 64 Nancy’s a Homewrecker
“Our company’s only had one outsider brought in for a top position, and that’s Ms. Moore…”
Everyone in the room exchanged looks of suspicion.
Hannah snapped, “You people don’t know Ms. Moore at all, do you? With her skills, does she seem like someone who just parachuted into the job?”
The room fell silent at that.
“Why are you defending her? You’d know damn well if Nancy has been sneaking around with my boyfriend!”
A piercing smack rang out. Nancy’s hand came down across Mirella’s cheek.
“Watch your mouth,” Nancy said coldly. The icy look in her eyes sent a chill straight down Mirella’s spine.
Hannah stared at Nancy in awe. Nancy was truly her savior.
“What’s going on here?”
Christopher rushed in, only for Mirella to point an accusing finger at him. “That homewrecker hit me! Are you planning to dump me now? We’ve been together for years, and all this time you’ve been keeping a side chick?”
“What the hell are you talking about?” Christopher’s face tightened. A flicker of panic appeared in his eyes. He turned toward the gawking employees just beyond the door. “What are you all staring at? Get back to work!”
The staff immediately scattered.
Christopher shut the door and turned back to Mirella. “What did you do?”
Mirella stared at him in shock. Even if he had cheated, she’d always believed she was still the most important person to him. She hadn’t expected him to demand to know what she had done.
“You cheat on me and then question me like this?” Mirella’s voice rose to a near–scream.
“When have I ever cheated on you?” Christopher glanced at the dripping wet Nancy and felt a knot tighten in his chest. “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming today?”
“If I told you, would you have let me meet her?” Mirella retorted. “Christopher, I can’t believe you! You’re even defending her right now! Fine, I’ll go public with this and expose you both!”
She was beyond reason now.

“Do you even know who she is?” Christopher was losing his patience. He never thought his girlfriend would be so unreasonable.
Mirella sneered. “Oh, let me guess! Is she the heiress to Moore Group or something?”
“That’s right! She’s that very Ms. Moore!” Christopher barked.
Mirella froze.
She slowly turned to Nancy, whose features were delicate and flawless. Nancy carried herself with a regal posture, despite being drenched.
“No… That’s impossible…” Mirella murmured. Her voice shook as she spoke.
Hannah glared at Mirella. “Do you really think the heiress to Moore Group would stoop to being your boyfriend’s mistress?”
“Ms. Moore, I’m so sorry. I should have kept my girlfriend in check.” Christopher sighed.
The
way
he said it left Mirella with no doubt that it was true. She took a step back and stared at Nancy. With a shaky voice, she asked, “Why didn’t you tell me right away?”
