Chapter 81 The Biased Brother
Raine frowned.
“Nancy, did you choose fashion just because Raine chose it? Do you even know how to design clothes? Stop copying her!” Fergus roared. He then turned to Martha. “Grandma, this isn’t right, is it?”
“Why not?” Martha countered. “I think it’s exactly how it should be. A little competition will make everyone work harder. Alright, now. Everyone has made their choice. What about you, Irene?”
Irene hadn’t expected to be singled out like this. She lifted her head, catching the look of
disdain from both her father and Susan.
“Mom, let’s just ignore Irene. She’s not really a Lidell anyway,” Edward said.
Martha’s gaze landed squarely on Irene. After a pause, she said, “She’s still one of the Lidells. You’d better treat her properly, or outsiders will think we’re a joke.”
Edward flashed an awkward smile. “Sure, Mom.”
With that, everyone sat around the table for their meal.
While eating, Raine kept glancing at Nancy before asking, “Nancy, have you studied fashion design before?”
Nancy ignored her and turned to Martha. “Grandma, does this mean I’ll be reporting to the fashion department at Lidell Group?”
“You’ll need to report in, but you won’t have to clock in every day,” Martha replied. “Since you’ve both chosen fashion design, you’ll each lead a team to develop the new collection. Then, we’ll see whose lineup sells better.”
“I think that’s a great idea, Grandma,” Raine agreed with a faint smile. “Shall we talk about this later, Nancy?”
Nancy hummed a noncommittal response.
After the meal, Nancy stepped into the restroom.
When she came out, Fergus was waiting for her at the doorway with a cold look on hisface.
She turned to leave, but he suddenly yanked her by the hair.
A sharp slap rang out.
Fergus sucked in a breath through gritted teeth. He was shocked to find that the hand he tried

to grab her with had gone numb and limp.
“You seem bored,” Nancy said flatly.
Fergus clenched his jaw. “Nancy, do you get some kind of thrill from torturing Raine?”
“How exactly have I tortured her?”
2/2
“You hid your identity, embarrassed her at the banquet, and now you’ve chosen the same field as her just to spite her. Don’t tell me you didn’t do that on purpose.” His tone was laced with disgust.
Nancy rebutted, “If Raine did all those things to me, would you still feel the same way?”
Fergus frowned as he gave it some thought. Honestly, he would probably just think Raine was clever if she did.
