"Okay! Cut! Donghu Kim! That was fantastic. We're almost done—let's take a short break!"
"Yes, sir."
Time had flown by—
It was already October 2025.
This isn’t easy.
I realized just how demanding ArcBorn was turning out to be. Murcielago – Black Smoke hadn’t even started filming yet. Once both projects overlap, how brutal is this going to get?
Well, I guess I brought some of this on myself.
After all, I was the one insisting on using as little CG as possible. I kept throwing my body into these stunts, which only made it harder.
“Donghu, nice work!”
“...Hyung, don’t you think you don’t need to come all the way here anymore?”
“What are you talking about? I’m still the CEO, yeah? Gotta keep my original spirit alive.”
Watching Seokho-hyung bring me a drink, I felt half grateful, half guilty.
Veritas wasn’t a huge agency in terms of numbers, but each artist they managed was big league. Managing that alone had to be tough.
And yet here he was, handling CEO duties and managing me on site.
Doing it all without Sims' help. Seokho-hyung really was incredible.
“Donghu, remember when I begged you to join the agency back during High Dream?”
“Of course. It was in my building, wasn’t it?”
“...Yeah, it was. God, that was hilarious.”
Seokho-hyung reminisced for a moment, sipped his drink, then continued.
“That’s how it all started. And for some reason, I just felt like I had to keep holding on.”
And you’re always going out of your way to help with the others’ projects too.
At that, I nodded a bit awkwardly.
Judging scripts doesn’t actually take that much time.
Since I couldn’t tell anyone about Sims, to outsiders it probably looked like I was seriously analyzing scripts.
When all I do is click for the grade check.
We casually acknowledged each other's hard work. About an hour passed.
“Alright, let’s get back to shooting!”
“Yes, sir.”
With that signal, filming resumed.

The core theme of ArcBorn through its midpoint was: “don’t be too heroic.”
Unlike Jin Wayne, this character needed to come across as someone unprepared, still just an ordinary person. So the decision was made to emphasize realism—even if that made things feel slow or frustrating.
So—
“Morgan replied! She said we can tour the house! Stark’s house!”
“Hah... and what exactly do you think you’re going to do there with that body? Just say no. Apologize and decline.”
“She said she saw our article! The one about us beating down those gangsters!”
“Yeah, I get it. But you injured your back—you’re stuck in the hospital for over a year. Where the hell do you think you’re going?”
“That’s why you have to go instead, EJ.”
“...Don’t call me that name when you’re asking for favors.”
Unlike traditional heroes who bounce back right after a fight, Harley was stuck in a hospital bed.
“You say that, but you’re gonna go anyway.”
“....”
I—no, EJ—turned uncomfortably toward the TV. The news was talking about an unknown duo who took down an entire gang.
Unknown duo? They were just two kids who’d graduated college.
Muttering to myself, I finally said—
“Alright, alright. I’ll go.”
Just what kind of email had she sent to Morgan Stark?
So I asked directly—
“What did you even write?”
“That we want to carry on Stark’s legacy... not through shady hacking or stealing, but properly! That we want to learn!”
“...You actually sent that? You’re nuts. How the hell did you even get a reply?”
“Because we sent all our research data with it. And you know Morgan—she’s a genius, right?”
“Of course. That kind of blood doesn’t just disappear.”
But Morgan being a genius and her agreeing to teach us? Two very different things.
What the hell did she write to convince her? I wanted to check the email immediately, but I couldn’t.
Because—
“Uh... anyway, we need to head out now.”
“What?”
“I already booked the flight and everything. Not much time left—we gotta go.”
Thanks to Harley’s ridiculous impulse actions, I didn’t even have time to check the message.
“Cut!”
The OK sign came out at the same time. Director Jenker followed up saying there was no need for additional takes. He and I discussed a few things about upcoming scenes.
“Ah, then let’s go with that...”
“That line we need at the end of the film—”
While we were going back and forth—
