Love Me Back (Amelia and Daniel) novel Chapter 96

The girl who answered the question let out a sigh, and it suddenly made sense to her why Amelia had no interest in Samuel. With a face like that, who cared about being the son of a politician or some rich guy?

She couldn't help but imagine how optimistic she'd be if she woke up every morning to a man that handsome lying beside her. She'd be the happiest, most cheerful girl alive.

Meanwhile, Daniel was heading toward the elevator, dialing Amelia's number as he walked. No answer.

Amelia ignoring his calls was nothing new, but it irked him tonight. He’d chosen Midnight Delight Café specifically for this work dinner, hoping to run into her. Instead, she’d vanished before he even arrived.

As the elevator doors slid shut, Daniel leaned against the mirrored wall, eyes fixed on the digital numbers ticking down.

When the elevator hit the second floor, he suddenly stood up straight.

Wait a minute—he realized it wasn’t just Amelia who was missing from the private room. Mr. Clark’s squinty-eyed nephew was gone too.

Amelia could hear her phone vibrating, but it was no use—Samuel had kicked it under the couch.

Samuel had lost his mind. She had no idea where he’d gotten the rope, but he’d tied her wrists and ankles together so tightly she could barely move.

Amelia shrank further and further back, her wide eyes full of panic. Still, she forced herself to stay calm, fighting down the terror.

“Samuel, I’ve never done anything to you. Why are you tying me up?”

Samuel’s gaze lingered hungrily on her trembling lips. He licked his own with a revolting smile. “You haven’t done anything to me, sure. I’m tying you up because you just won’t cooperate. If you promise to behave and do what I say, I’ll untie you right now. How about that?”

The shock jolted through Amelia like a venomous bite. She lashed out with both feet, kicking him hard in the thigh.

Instead of getting angry, Samuel seemed to enjoy it. “You know, it’s that fiery spirit I like about you. If you’d just agreed to be my girl and sleep with me, we wouldn’t be here. But no, you had to play hard to get. I’ve wanted you for years, and tonight—I’m going to make sure you enjoy every second.”

His hand slid up, pushing aside her bra strap, lips inches from her skin. Amelia felt like she was hanging off a cliff, desperate, terrified—so she screamed, “I’m Daniel’s wife! If you touch me, he’ll kill you!”

Samuel froze, then scoffed. “Daniel’s wife? Please. Why not just say you’re royalty while you’re at it?”

He didn’t believe her for a second, but the ridiculous claim seemed to amuse him. Leaning in closer, he whispered, his breath hot and foul against her ear.

“Daniel’s just upstairs, drinking on the fifth floor. Go on—call for your fake husband. Let’s see if he comes running.”
