Ryan stood frozen on the deck of the Medusa Warship, his face pale with shock.

He stared at the massive creature rising from the surface of the Deep Sea Zone and swallowed hard.

This monster hadn't shown up when he and Matthew crossed this area earlier. Why now—why had the giant octopus emerged the moment they moved past the area, unleashing chaos and death?

Out of the corner of his eye, Ryan glanced at Matthew.

What exactly had Matthew done earlier when he told Ryan to close his eyes?

Matthew, calm as ever, watched as the massive tentacles of the octopus tore through ships with terrifying ease.

Few, if any, survived the wreckage of those vessels crushed by its might. The sea was quickly stained crimson.

Onboard Ryder's ship, Ryder stared at the beast, cold sweat beading on his forehead.

There was no way out now.

Everyone who had tried to flee had been the first to die.

Which left only one option—fight to the death.

With a fierce glint in his eye, Ryder shouted, voice ringing out across the deck, "Turn the guns! Aim at that d*mned octopus and open fire!"

Crewmembers scrambled to redirect the ship's cannons, now locked on the rampaging creature.

These men were outlaws, and now they were staring death in the face. Every last one of them dug deep, summoning every ounce of strength.

As Ryder's ship began its relentless barrage, the other ships quickly realized retreat was no longer an option.

One by one, they followed suit, swiveling their cannons and unleashing a storm of shells at the monster.

The octopus, seemingly aware of the danger, didn't try to withstand the assault. It dove back beneath the waves, slipping away in another direction.

Ryan, watching the scene from outside the Deep Sea Zone, was stunned.

"This thing is that smart? It knows how to avoid human fire?"

"Of course," Matthew replied with a faint smile. "Animals have strong survival instincts."
