Chapter 68 Harry Slips Under Catherine’s Covers

Catherine shook her head and sank weakly into Rachel’s arms.

She had felt unwell when she woke up this morning, but she ignored the feeling. She hadn’t had much of an appetite either.

Rachel touched her forehead and exclaimed, “Why are you burning up?”

She helped Catherine onto the couch and frantically called the family doctor. It wasn’t until her temperature was taken that they realized Catherine had a fever.

Rachel stroked Catherine’s head, speaking with a hint of concern. “How did this happen so suddenly?”

Catherine closed her eyes, saying, “Maybe I caught a chill last night.”

Rachel tucked a pillow into her arms and covered Catherine with a blanket. “I’m really worried about you being on your own. Just stay here and rest during this time.”

The noise downstairs was loud enough to disturb Harry. He stood on the second floor, peering into the living room below.

“What’s going on?” he asked.

Rachel glared at him in frustration. “You’ve got some nerve asking that. Cathy has a fever. Can’t you tell that she’s sick?”

Harry’s gaze fell on Catherine, and only then did he notice how pale her face was. He came downstairs in a gray loungewear set and thin-soled slippers.

He raised a hand to her forehead and said, “You’re really burning up.”

Rachel shoved him aside. “If you’re not going to help, then stay out of the way. Why are you even here if you can’t take care of Cathy?”

She had thought that Harry would act differently once he knew Catherine was carrying his child. In the end, she had been imagining things.

Harry took a step back and sat silently on the side.

This was why he never trusted Catherine to live alone. She could barely care for herself, let alone the child in her womb.

He had tried to arrange for someone to look after her, but she rejected the idea outright. She even suspected him of having ulterior motives. To him, she was nothing but ungrateful.

Catherine’s head swam with dizziness. At some point, she felt herself being carried into the

bedroom.

She knew it was Harry, yet she had no strength left to open her eyes. Her whole body went limp as she leaned into his arms.

Her pregnancy left her with few medicines she could safely take. Through a haze, she heard someone suggesting using warm water to cool her body. Struggling to open her eyes, she saw Harry reaching to unbutton her clothes.

She caught his hand and said, “I can do it myself.”

“Do you even have the strength to get up?” Harry asked.

He sneered as he stripped her bare. “Is there any part of you I haven’t seen before?”

Catherine closed her eyes, unwilling to interact with Harry at all.

Harry picked up a clean cloth, dampened it with warm water, and wiped her body. “Do you really think I want to be taking care of you?”
