Chapter 78 Homewreckers Deserve to Die

The entire internet was flooded with criticism and accusations, directed entirely at Catherine.

Some people even dug up details about her family, claiming that the car accident happened because she interfered in someone else’s relationship. Even worse, they went so far as to say she brought about her father’s death.

Catherine’s breath caught, and her knuckles turned white. She pressed a hand against her belly, forcing herself to calm down.

She knew that it must have been Michelle and Yvonne who did it. If she let herself get upset, she would be playing right into their hands. She quickly put down her phone and tried to ignore the messages.

Just then, a knock came at the door.

Catherine got up to open the door, thinking it was Eleanor. But the moment she opened it, a bucket of paint was dumped all over her.

It all happened so suddenly that she didn’t have time to react before the cold, sticky liquid poured over her. She took a single breath, and the suffocating stench filled her lungs.

“Homewreckers deserve to die!” the attacker shouted. Then he tossed the bucket aside and

bolted.

Catherine froze in place, her lower abdomen tightening under the sudden shock as pain rippled through her. Just as she was about to collapse, Jeremy, who had been coming downstairs to bring her breakfast, was startled by the scene.

“Cathy, what happened to you?”

The sight of so much red made him think that it was blood.

Terrified, he dropped the breakfast container in his hand and rushed toward Catherine. Only when he got closer did he realize that it was paint. He scooped her up into his arms and ran straight for the hospital.

Large patches of her skin had come into direct contact with the paint. The only option was to get her to the hospital immediately, or the baby could be in serious danger.

Jeremy wondered who could be so vicious.

He shoved Catherine into the car, and his first thought was that Michelle was behind this. She was the only one who kept targeting Catherine that way.

Catherine stayed silent, knowing that if she opened her mouth, the nauseating stench would

choke her.

Fortunately, the hospital was nearby, and she was rushed there within ten minutes. A team of doctors and nurses worked together to wash the paint off her body.

Yet the stench of paint still clung to her, and the more she breathed it in, the dizzier and more

nauseated she felt.

Catherine leaned drowsily against Jeremy, and her mind grew hazy. Moments later, she completely lost consciousness.

Seeing Catherine so frail, a flash of anger flickered in Jeremy’s eyes.

Jeremy wanted Michelle tied to Harry for good, but he couldn’t tolerate her hurting Catherine again and again. If Michelle insisted on crossing the line, he would make sure she paid the

price.

Meanwhile, at the Zimmerman residence, Harry’s fever had finally broken after several days. Yet his body hadn’t fully recovered, and a lingering cough still troubled him.

Rachel scolded from the side. “You never fall sick for years, but the one time you do, the fever

won’t break for days. Such a nuisance.”

Harry ignored her words and asked, “Where’s Catherine?”

Rachel sneered. “So now you suddenly care about her?”

She glanced at the thermometer to confirm that Harry’s fever was gone. She had been worried sick these past few days.

Seeing that he wasn’t going to get any answers out of Rachel, he picked up his phone, ready to call and find out how Catherine was doing.

But just as he unlocked it, an algorithmically recommended livestream clip popped up with a caption that read, “A little wake-up call for the homewrecker at 7:00 am.”

The background of the video was unmistakably Catherine’s house.

Someone rang her doorbell. The moment she stepped out, a bucket full of red paint was dumped all over her. They even cursed at her, shouting for her to go and die.
