Chapter 85 Catherine Runs off With His Child
Harry didn’t stay long and went back soon after.
Catherine wasn’t home that day. She was buried in work at the company, overseeing the application process for several experimental drugs heading into clinical trials. She had no clue Harry had shown
After a long day, Catherine finally returned home. She checked her phone, half–expecting Harry to kick up a fuss.
But the whole day passed without a single message from him.
She wondered if Harry’s mood had suddenly shifted, or perhaps he hadn’t realized she was the one who threw the paint.
Catherine brushed Harry from her thoughts.
Friday was approaching, and she had a business trip to Hearthvale. She decided to take Adam with her. If everything went as planned, they should be back in Neovara by Sunday night.
The next day, the two of them headed for the airport at 10:00 am. Around 12:30 pm, their flight
touched down in Hearthvale.
Tony, who had already been informed of their arrival, came to meet them and drove them to their
hotel.
Catherine was about to brief Tony on the company, but he interrupted, saying, “I know you’re busy with business, but don’t forget to take a break. As for the investment, we can discuss it at the office tomorrow. For now, just get some rest.”
Tony’s thoughtfulness made Catherine feel somewhat uneasy. “Mr. Murphy, you’re right. Let’s talk about it tomorrow.”
“That’s more like it. If you need anything, just call me. Don’t be shy with me.” Tony patted her shoulder lightly and quickly withdrew his hand.
Catherine nodded. “I’ll do as you say.”
Tony didn’t stay long and soon left with his driver.
Catherine glanced at Adam. “Mr. Mayo, do you think this investment will go through?”
Adam thought for a moment before nodding. “Tony has always been quick with money. He has already wired in one round of funds before, so I believe the investment will go through. Ms. Quinn, you really don’t need to worry too much.”
Catherine murmured, “It all feels too smooth and almost unreal.”

She had always dealt with tricky clients in the past. A client like Tony, who transfers funds without a second thought, left her feeling a little unsettled.
Adam chuckled. “That’s a good thing, Ms. Quinn. Your career will surely keep rising from here, and when Mrs. Quinn wakes up, she’ll be proud to see how much you’ve grown.”
At the mention of her mother, Nancy Young, Catherine’s expression softened with a gentle smile. Though she still had no idea when Nancy would finally wake up.
“Mr. Mayo, you should get some rest too,” Catherine said, tucking away her worries as she parted from Adam. Their rooms were just across from each other.
Catherine set her small suitcase down in the living room and went into her room to lie down for a while. She really was exhausted.
While she slept, her phone rang once.
