Chapter 86 Are You Thinking About Seeing Someone New

Catherine slept really soundly. With her belly growing, she had been feeling sleepier than ever. She thought she would just rest for a bit, it was already evening by the time she woke up.

She yawned and picked up her phone, noticing a missed call from Harry. She guessed he must have finally lost his patience and wanted to scold her for Michelle’s sake.

Unfortunately for him, Catherine had been dead asleep and missed the call.

Setting the phone aside, she got ready to head out with Adam for dinner. As she turned to get changed, her phone buzzed again.

Thinking it was Harry, she didn’t answer right away but walked unhurriedly over to the bed, only to find Tony’s name on the screen. She immediately put on a bright smile. “Mr. Murphy.”

“Did you rest well?” Tony asked with concern.

Catherine couldn’t shake the odd feeling that Tony seemed overly concerned about whether she had rested well. Still, considering that he was both her investor and a senior, she told herself such concern was only natural. She figured she was probably just being overly sensitive.

Catherine replied, “The hotel you booked is very comfortable. I’ve had a good rest.‘

“In that case, let me introduce you to a few of my friends tonight. They’re quite interested in your company’s targeted therapy drugs.

“It’s a good chance to meet them and brief them on your trial progress.” The way Tony spoke was filled with concern for Catherine.

“Thank you, Mr. Murphy,” Catherine said gratefully.

“Don’t be so formal. We’re like family. I’ll send someone to pick you up later.” Tony chuckled. His laugh carried the kind of ease that made everyone relax around him.

Catherine hummed in agreement. “Alright, I’ll be there later.”

It seemed Tony and Wesley were pretty close. Otherwise, Tony wouldn’t be going out of his way to help her.

Catherine touched up her makeup and mentioned it to Adam.

Adam looked uneasy. “Ms. Quinn, let me come with you.”

Catherine shook her head. “No need. It’s just a dinner. Nothing is going to happen.”

Adam thought for a moment and said, “Then I’ll wait outside for you. If anything does come up, at least I’ll be nearby.”

Catherine nodded lightly. “Okay, you can come along.”

The two of them went downstairs together. At the entrance, someone opened the car door for Catherine.

Just as Adam was about to get in, the driver stopped him. “Sorry. Your car’s behind.”

Adam knew the custom in Hearthvale. In business settings, assistants didn’t share a car with their bosses. Without thinking much of it, he headed to the car at the back.

Both cars pulled up at Luxe, one of the city’s most notorious playgrounds for the wealthy.

Catherine had heard of the place. If she remembered correctly, the owner of Luxe was on rather good

terms with Harry.

Catherine pulled herself out of her thoughts and followed the staff into a private room.

Meanwhile, Adam was shown to another room where assistants from various parties usually dined.

When the two staff members pushed open the heavy doors, Catherine saw 13 men seated around a large round table.

Tony, seated at the head, broke into a wide smile the moment he saw her. “Catherine, sit here. I reserved this spot for you.”

Catherine sat down next to Tony. She had expected him to back her with an investment, but she hadn’t imagined he would invite so many others as well. With composure, she greeted him politely.”

Mr. Murphy.”

Tony’s tone carried a touch of reproach, though it was full of concern. “You’re already pregnant and still pushing yourself so hard. You need to rest when you should.”

Catherine gave a faint smile. “I’ll rest once this busy stretch is over.”

Those men all wore kindly smiles, looking at Catherine as though she were a younger member of their own families. She understood it was only out of respect for Tony.

Their questions of concern, one after another, left her a little overwhelmed.
